Jónatan James Bow
Jónatan James Bow (born Jonathan James Bow on 16 February 1966) is an American-Icelandic former basketball player and a former member of the Icelandic national basketball team. He won the Icelandic championship three times with Keflavík and KR. Playing career Bow's first professional stop was with Haukar in 1989. In September 1989, Haukar loaned Bow to KR to participate in the FIBA Korać Cup. With KR, Bow teamed up with Soviet Union national team player Anatolij Kovtun which was, according to FIBA, the first time an American and a Soviet player played together in the Cup. KR faced Hemel Royals in the first round. In the first game, Bow scored 16 points in KR's 53–45 victory. The game was delayed for two hours after Hemel's Darin Schubring broke the backboard with a dunk with 6:23 remaining of the game. Forward (basketball)
In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. British Basketball League
The British Basketball League (BBL) is a men's professional basketball league in Great Britain and represents the highest level of play in the countries. The league is contested by 10 teams from England and Scotland. There are no clubs however from Wales or Northern Ireland. The BBL runs three additional knockout competitions alongside the BBL Championship which are the BBL Cup, the BBL Trophy and the end-of-season BBL Play-offs. The BBL sits above the National Basketball League and the Scottish Basketball Championship which effectively form the second tier of British basketball. The Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) (English language: ''Federal Basketball League''), for sponsorship reasons named easyCredit BBL, is the highest level league of professional club basketball in Germany. The league comprises 18 teams. A BBL season is split into a league stage and a playoff stage. At the end of the league stage, the top eight teams qualify for the playoff stage, and the teams positioned in the 17th and 18th places are relegated to a lower-tier league. The playoffs are played in a "Best of five" format. The winning team of the final round are crowned the German Champions of that season.
