Charles Lundy Lewis
Charles Lundy Lewis (March 8, 1852 – February 11, 1936) was an American jurist. Biography Born in Ottawa, Illinois, Lewis graduated from Oberlin College in 1876. He then studied law and was admitted to the Illinois bar in Chicago, Illinois in 1879. He practiced law in Fergus Falls, Minnesota and served as county attorney for Otter Tail County, Minnesota. In 1891, Lewis moved to Duluth, Minnesota and continued to practice law. In 1893, Lewis served as a Minnesota district court judge. Lewis served on the Minnesota Supreme Court from 1900 to 1912. Clive Lewis (judge)
Sir Clive Buckland Lewis (born 13 June 1960), styled The Rt Hon. Lord Justice Lewis, is a judge of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales, one of the Senior Courts of England and Wales. He was educated at Cwmtawe Community School, Churchill College, Cambridge (BA, 1981) and Dalhousie University (LLM, 1983). Lewis was a lecturer at the University of East Anglia and at University of Cambridge, where he was a fellow of Selwyn College, before being called to the bar at Middle Temple in 1987. He was appointed a Recorder in 2003 and was approved to sit as a deputy High Court judge. In 2003, he became a Queen's Counsel. On 13 June 2013, he was appointed a High Court judge, receiving the customary knighthood in the 2014 Special Honours, and assigned to the Queen's Bench Division. Ellis Lewis
Ellis Lewis (May 16, 1798March 19, 1871) was a Pennsylvania lawyer and judge. He served on the state's Supreme Court for six years, the last three as chief justice. Life and career Ellis Lewis was the youngest child of Major Eli and Pamela Lewis. Orphaned at the age of nine, he was apprenticed as a printer to the owner of the Harrisburg newspaper founded by his father. After five years, he ran away and found work as a printer under an assumed name. By 1818, he owned a newspaper in Williamsport, Lycoming County. There he studied law with Espy Van Horne. He sold the newspaper in 1821, and was admitted to the bar in 1822. He continued to work with his brothers Eli and James and their newspapers, by which means he began his involvement in Pennsylvania politics. Lewis married Josephine Wallis in 1822. Johnnie N. Lewis (April 16, 1946 – January 21, 2015) was a Liberian lawyer and politician who served as the 18th Chief Justice of Liberia from 2006 to 2012.
