Albertis Harrison
Albertis Sydney Harrison Jr. (January 11, 1907 – January 23, 1995) was an American politician and jurist. A member of the Democratic Party (United States), Democratic Party associated with Virginia's Byrd Organization, he was the List of Governors of Virginia, 59th Governor of Virginia in 1962–66, and the first governor of Virginia to have been born in the 20th century. Early life and education Harrison was born in Alberta, Virginia, the son of Albertis Sydney Harrison and Lizzie, (née Goodrich). He has been widely reported as related to Benjamin Harrison V who signed the United States Declaration of Independence, Declaration of Independence and two United States presidents, William Henry Harrison and Benjamin Harrison, the 9th and 23rd Presidents. George Moffett Harrison
George Moffett Harrison (February 14, 1847 – November 22, 1923) was an American lawyer and judge who served for 22 years as a justice of the Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals (later named the Supreme Court of Virginia). Harrison served briefly as the President of the Court from November 16, 1916, to March 6, 1917, before his resignation from the judiciary. Biography Early years George Moffett Harrison was born at Staunton, Virginia, on February 14, 1847. His father was Henry Harrison, of West Hill, near Staunton. His mother was Jane St. Clair Cochran and his wife, Maria T. Boys. Harrison received his early education from his father. Horace Harrison Harrison (August 7, 1829 – December 20, 1885) was an American politician and a member of the United States House of Representatives for the 5th congressional district of Tennessee. He was the last Republican to serve as representative from Tennessee’s 5th congressional district until Andy Ogles was elected in 2022. Biography Harrison was born 7 August 1829 in Lebanon, Tennessee in Wilson County to Joshua Stone Harrison and Judith Coleman Turner. Moses Wilkins Harrison II (March 30, 1932 – April 25, 2013) was an American attorney and jurist who served as a judge of the Illinois Appellate Court and the Supreme Court of Illinois. Early life and education Born in Collinsville, Illinois, Harrison received his bachelor's degree from Colorado College and his law degree from Washington University School of Law. Career After graduating Harrison practiced law for about fifteen years in the state of Illinois. He was appointed as a circuit judge in 1973. An election was held for the position the following year, which Harrison won.
