''Just Cause Y'all Waited 2'' is the fifth studio album by American rapper Lil Durk. It was released on May 8, 2020, by Only the Family, Alamo Records and Geffen Records, serving as a sequel to his 2018 ''Just Cause Y'all Waited'' mixtape. It features guest appearances from Lil Baby, Polo G, Gunna, and G Herbo. A deluxe edition of the album was released on June 26, 2020, with seven additional tracks, propelling the album to a new peak of number two on the ''Billboard'' 200. Commercial performance ''Just Cause Y'all Waited 2'' debuted at number five on the US ''Billboard'' 200 chart, earning 57,000 album-equivalent units (including 3,000 copies of pure album sales) in its first week. Lil Durk
Durk Derrick Banks (born October 19, 1992), known professionally as Lil Durk, is an American rapper and singer. He is the lead member and founder of the collective and record label Only the Family (OTF). Durk garnered a cult following with the release of his ''Signed to the Streets'' mixtape series (2013–2014), which lead to a record deal with Def Jam Recordings. The label would release his debut studio albums, ''Remember My Name (album), Remember My Name'' (2015) and ''Lil Durk 2X'' (2016), before Durk departed Def Jam in 2018. Herbert Randall Wright III (born October 8, 1995), better known by his stage name G Herbo (formerly Lil Herb), is an American rapper from Chicago. G Herbo is signed to Machine Entertainment Group. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is a trade organization that represents the music recording industry in the United States. The album-equivalent unit, or album equivalent, is a measurement unit in music industry to define the consumption of music that equals the purchase of one album copy. This consumption includes streaming and song downloads in addition to traditional album sales. The album-equivalent unit was introduced in the mid- 2010s as an answer to the drop of album sales in the 21st century. Album sales more than halved from 1999 to 2009, declining from a $14.6 to $6.3 billion industry. For instance, the only albums that went platinum in the United States in 2014 were the '' Frozen'' soundtrack and Taylor Swift's ''1989'', whereas several artists' works had in 2013.
