Jurong West Sports and Recreation Centre is a centre for sports and recreational activities. It was officially opened to the public on 10 November 2006. It is the largest integrated sports centre in Singapore. Location The stadium is located in Jurong West, near Pioneer MRT station. History The stadium was opened in 2006, and served temporary as the home stadium for Tampines Rovers FC from 2015 to 2017. It is currently the home stadium for Young Lions FC. Jurong West is a planning area and residential town located in the West Region of Singapore. Jurong West shares boundaries with Tengah in the north, Jurong East in the east, Boon Lay and Pioneer in the south, and Western Water Catchment in the west. Originally a forested area, Jurong West is undergoing rapid development under the ambition of the Housing and Development Board (HDB) to transform it into a fully mature housing estate. Marina Bay Floating Platform
The Float at Marina Bay, stylised as The Float@Marina Bay and also known as the Marina Bay Floating Platform, is a multi-purpose outdoor venue at the Downtown Core area of Marina Bay, Singapore. The venue consists of a steel platform in the Marina Reservoir, and a 27,000-seat grandstand along the shore. The floating platform can bear up to 1,070 tonnes, equivalent to the total weight of 9,000 people, 200 tonnes of stage props and three 30-tonne military vehicles. The Float was built in 2007 as an interim venue for events usually held at the National Stadium in Kallang while it was being rebuilt as part of the Singapore Sports Hub project—including sporting events (such as football), concerts, arts and cultural performances, and festivities such as the National Day Parade (NDP). Gombak United Football Club was a professional Football (soccer), football club which competed in the S.League, the top division of football in Singapore. The club was based in Bukit Gombak. During the early years of the S. League, Gombak United played their home games at Bukit Gombak Stadium before moving to Jurong West Stadium in 2006 until they dissolved in 2012.
