''Jupiter'' is the second studio album by the Portland-based indie rock band Starfucker. It was originally released as a mini-LP on May 5, 2009, through Badman Recording Co., and was re-released on January 10, 2012, as a full album with three new tracks as well as updated artwork and mixes of the previously-existing tracks. Strfkr (a disemvowelment of "Starfucker"), stylized in all caps, is an indie rock band from Portland, Oregon. It began in 2007 as a solo project of Joshua Hodges. History Members include Joshua Hodges of Sexton Blake (vocals, keyboards, guitar, drums), Shawn Glassford (bass, keyboards, drums), Keil Corcoran (drums, keyboards, vocals), and Arian Jalali (Guitar, Keyboards) Prior to forming Starfucker, Hodges released a solo album titled ''Sexton Blake'' and followed up with an album released under the band name "Sexton Blake" entitled ''Plays The Hits!'' Both albums were released on Expunged Records. During this time Corcoran was the drummer for Vegas-based grindcore band The Weirding Way. The name Starfucker started off as a joke by Sam Norris, an early patron of the band, but the band's success under the name grew rapidly. Robert Hazard
Robert Hazard (né Rimato, August 21, 1948 – August 5, 2008) was an American musician. He wrote, composed, and recorded the song "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" in 1979, which was covered in 1983 by Cyndi Lauper, who turned it into a best-selling hit. He also composed the new-wave and MTV songs " Escalator of Life" and "Change Reaction", which he performed with his band, Robert Hazard and the Heroes, that was popular in the Philadelphia club scene during the 1980s. These songs appeared on the five song EP '' Robert Hazard'', released in June 1982 by his own record label "RHA Records", and the next November by major label RCA Records. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". A mini-LP or mini-album is a short vinyl record album or LP, usually retailing at a lower price than an album that would be considered full-length. It is distinct from an EP due to containing more tracks and a slightly longer running length. A mini-LP is not to be confused with the Japanese CDs issued in a "mini LP sleeve" or "paper jacket".
