Junior Zarate (boxer)
Juvenal "Junior" Zarate (born December 24, 1978) is a soccer midfielder who played for the USL Second Division side Wilmington Hammerheads. Zarate was born in Degollado, Mexico. He moved to Tennessee with his family when he was 17 and he spent several years playing in local recreational soccer leagues. In 2001, after a trial, he signed with the Wilmington Hammerheads. Degollado
Degollado () is a small town and municipality located in the Mexican state of Jalisco, in the cultural region of Ciénega, just south of Los Altos. The municipality encompasses Huascato, Los Ranchitos, La Vibora, Buenos Aires, Las Limas, Altamira, La Chancla and El Corral de Piedra. In Spanish, the word ''degollado'' means "to slit one's throat", "behead", or "decapitate". It is also a last name, and in this case the town was named after Mexican general Santos Degollado. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time.
