Jumble Winding
Jumble winding or scramble winding is a type of winding of a wire randomly wound on a bobbin A bobbin or spool is a spindle or cylinder, with or without flanges, on which yarn, thread, wire, tape or film is wound. Bobbins are typically found in industrial textile machinery, as well as in sewing machines, fishing reels, tape measure .... In this type of winding, the wire is not wound layer by layer with insulation placed in between. In fact, it is wound full depth, and randomly until the number of turns have been reached. The only insulation throughout is the insulation on the wire and that of the bobbin. Special sectioned bobbins are used for this type of winding. Devices that use jumble-wound coils include small electric motors, and some types of choke inductors. Choke (electronics)
In electronics, a choke is an inductor used to block higher-frequency alternating currents while passing direct current (DC) and lower-frequencies alternating current (AC) in an electrical circuit. A choke usually consists of a coil of insulated wire often wound on a magnetic core, although some consist of a doughnut-shaped "bead" of ferrite material strung on a wire. The choke's impedance increases with frequency. Its low electrical resistance passes both AC and DC with little power loss, but its reactance limits the amount of AC passed.
