Juma Ngasongwa
Dr Juma Alifa Ngasongwa (born 13 August 1941 in Ngombo in Ulanga District) is a Tanzanian politician who served as Chama Cha Mapinduzi Member of Parliament for Ulanga Magharibi in the National Assembly of Tanzania. Ngasongwa grew up in Biro in Malinyi a ward of Ulanga district in Tanzania, and graduated from the University of Suchdol, Prague, Czechoslovakia, in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He later earned a master's degree from the University of Dar es Salaam in 1980, before completing a PhD at the University of East Anglia, England, in 1988. His PhD was entitled "Evaluation of externally funded regional integrated development programmes (RIDEPs) in Tanzania case studies of Kigoma, Tanga and Iringa regions". He worked as a lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam (1976–1984) and as a senior lecturer at Sokoine University of Agriculture (1984–1993). Jakaya Kikwete
Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete (born 7 October 1950) is a Tanzanian politician who was the fourth president of Tanzania, in office from 2005 to 2015. Prior to his election as president, he was the Minister for Foreign Affairs from 1995 to 2005 under his predecessor, Benjamin Mkapa. He also served as the chairperson of the African Union from 2008–2009 and the chairman of the Southern African Development Community Troika on Peace, Defence and Security from 2012–2013. Kikwete who is of Kwere heritage, was born and raised in Msoga, Chalinze District in Pwani Region and attended the university of Dar es Salaam. Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) is a public university in Morogoro, Tanzania, specializing in agriculture. The university is named after the country's second prime minister Edward Sokoine. Introduction Sokoine University of Agriculture was established on 1 July 1984 by Parliamentary Act No. 6 of 1984. Currently the University operates under the Universities Act No. 7 of 2005 and SUA Charter and Rules of 2007. Tanzanian Muslims
Islam in Tanzania is the second largest religion in the country behind Christianity. According to a 2020 estimate by Pew research center, Muslims represent 34.1% of the total population. The faith was introduced by merchants visiting the Swahili coast, as it became connected to a larger maritime trade network dominated by Muslims. This would lead to local conversions and assimilations of foreign Muslims, ultimately causing the eventual formation of several officially Muslim political entities in the region. On the mainland, Muslim communities are concentrated in coastal areas, with some large Muslim majorities also in inland urban areas especially and along the former caravan routes. The Tanzania People’s Defence Force (TPDF) ( sw, Jeshi la Ulinzi la Wananchi wa Tanzania) is the military force of the United Republic of Tanzania. It was established in September 1964, following a mutiny by the former colonial military force, the Tanganyika Rifles. From its inception, it was ingrained in the troops of the new TPDF that they were a people's force under civilian control. Unlike some of its neighboring countries, Tanzania has never suffered a coup d'état or civil war.
