Julio Blanc (born 6 July 1995) is a Chilean rugby union player, currently playing for Súper Liga Americana de Rugby side Selknam. His preferred position is wing. Professional career Blanc signed for Súper Liga Americana de Rugby side Selknam ahead of the 2020 Súper Liga Americana de Rugby season, and re-signed ahead of the 2021 Súper Liga Americana de Rugby season. The 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens was the eighth edition of the Rugby World Cup Sevens organised by World Rugby. The 2022 tournament, comprising 24 men's and 16 women's teams as previously, was played over three days in one venue in September. It took place at the Cape Town Stadium in Cape Town, South Africa between 9 and 11 September 2022. It was the first ever Rugby World Cup Sevens in Africa. The 2021 Súper Liga Americana de Rugby season was the second season of Súper Liga Americana de Rugby, an annual rugby union competition sanctioned by Sudamérica Rugby. The competition began on 16 March and ended on 15 May. Teams Team changes Ceibos did not compete in the 2021 edition of the competition, having been replaced by the Argentine Rugby Union with the Jaguares XV. The Brazilian side are now known as Cobras Brasil XV or Cobras following the end of relationship with the Corinthians multi-sport club. The Colombian Cafeteros Pro also debuted this year. Wing (rugby Union)
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. Players that play multiple positions are called "utility players". Forwards compete for the ball in scrums and Line-out (rugby union), line-outs and are generally bigger and stronger than the backs. The 2020 Súper Liga Americana de Rugby season was the inaugural season of Súper Liga Americana de Rugby, an annual rugby union competition sanctioned by Sudamérica Rugby. Super Rugby Americas (SRA) will be the new franchise rugby tournament format in America, and the first season will begin on February 18, 2023 after efforts by World Rugby. It will be organized and led by Sudamérica Rugby, the highest rugby entity in South America. It will be a contest on two wheels, all against all, which will integrate seven teams through franchises.
