Julie Wood (athlete)
''Julie Wood'' was a Franco-Belgian comics series drawn and written by French cartoonist Jean Graton between 1976 and 1980. It centered around a young female motorcyclist, Julie Wood. When the series ended the character was introduced in Graton's other, more famous, comics series ''Michel Vaillant''. The character was portrayed by German actress Diane Kruger in the 2003 film adaptation of ''Michel Vaillant''. Overview Founded in 1976 by Jean Graton, these series found an audience among bikers and other comics fans. ''Julie Wood'' was regularly published in the comics magazine ''Super As''. The albums were published from 1976 to 1979 by Dargaud, and in 1979 and 1980 by Fleurus Fleurus (; wa, Fleuru) is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. Dargaud Titles
Société Dargaud, doing business as Les Éditions Dargaud, is a publisher of Franco-Belgian comics series, headquartered in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. It was founded in 1936 by Georges Dargaud (), publishing its first comics in 1943. History Initially, Dargaud published novels for women. In 1948, it started '' Line'', a "magazine for elegant women", as well as a French edition of the Belgian ''Tintin'' magazine. In 1960, Dargaud bought the weekly ''Pilote'' magazine from René Goscinny, Albert Uderzo, and Jean-Michel Charlier. Goscinny continued as editor of the magazine, and Charlier was album editor for a period. In October 1961, Dargaud published the first ''Asterix'' album. In 1974, Dargaud wanted to diversify. ''Pilote'' became a monthly magazine and spawned two other monthly magazines. Motorsport, motorsports or motor sport is a global term used to encompass the group of competitive sporting events which primarily involve the use of motorized vehicles. ''Adventure Comics'' is an American comic book series published by DC Comics from 1938 to 1983 and revived from 2009 to 2011. In its first era, the series ran for 503 issues (472 of those after the title changed from ''New Adventure Comics''), making it the fifth-longest-running DC series, behind '' Detective Comics'', ''Action Comics'', '' Superman'', and '' Batman''. The series was revived in 2009 through a new "#1" issue by artist Clayton Henry and writer Geoff Johns. It returned to its original numbering with #516 (September 2010). The series ended again with #529 (October 2011) prior to a company-wide revision of DC's superhero comic book line, known as "The New 52".
