Juha Hietanen
Juha Hietanen (born April 20, 1955) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey forward. Hietanen played most of his career with HPK, playing from 1973 to 1985 and from 1986 to 1987. Having played mostly in the 1. Divisioona, the team were promoted to the SM-liiga in 1983. Hietanen played 33 games during the 1983-84 SM-liiga season and notched up three assists. It would be his only season in Finland's top-tier league as HPK were relegated straight back to the 1. Divisioona. In 1985, Hietanen joined Ketterä for one season before returning to HPK the following year in his last season before retiring. HPK have retired the number 17 in Hietanen's honour. Juuso Hietanen
Juuso Hietanen (born 14 June 1985) is a Finnish professional ice hockey defenceman for HPK of the Liiga. Playing career Hietanen made his SM-liiga debut with HPK during the 2003–04 season, and two years later he became a regular player on the team. He also visited Pelicans early in his career and was part of the Finnish national junior team in the 2005 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. At the time of his SM-liiga debut, he was the first third generation player in the top level of Finnish ice hockey. In 2006 he celebrated the championship with HPK. He scored two goals and an assist in the second final, but HPK suffered its only loss in the series. In 2007, he moved to Sweden to play in the Elitserien with Brynäs IF and for 2010–11 season he signed with HV71. Hietanen played in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) during 2011 to 2021, first with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod and later with Dynamo Moscow. HPK Players
Hämeenlinnan Pallokerho (HPK) is a professional ice hockey team in the Liiga, the top men's ice hockey league in Finland. Their home ice is the Ritari-areena in Hämeenlinna. HPK was established in 1929. The parent club of the team is HPK Edustusjääkiekko ry and the team is sometimes promoted as the "Hockey Playing Knights," with a logo representing a knight's helmet. The National League (NL) is a professional ice hockey league in Switzerland and is the top tier of the Swiss league system. Prior to the 2017–18 season, the league was known as National League A. During the 2018–19 season, the league had an average of 6,949 spectators per game which is the highest among European leagues (ahead of the KHL with 6,397 and the DEL with 6,215). The capital city's club SC Bern has been ranked first of all European clubs for 18 seasons and had an average attendance of 16,290 after the regular season. Hockey Club Ambrì-Piotta is a Switzerland, Swiss professional ice hockey club and a member of the National League (ice hockey), National League (NL). The club was founded September 19, 1937, and is also known as "Bianco-Blu" (English: white and blues). Hämeenlinnan Tarmo is a sports club founded in Hämeenlinna, Finland, in 1903. It currently has about 1500 members. The club participates in sport of athletics, athletics, cycle sport, cycling, strength sports, bowling, orienteering, and volleyball. The president of the club is Kalevi Kilpi. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice going from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence.
