Juan Pino
Juan Antonio Pino Pérez (born 3 July 1965) is a former professional tennis player from Cuba. Biography Pino, who comes from Pinar del Río in western Cuba, began playing tennis at the age of 10 and trained in Havana. A right handed player, Pino holds the record for most matches won for the Cuba Davis Cup team, a total of 34, in a career spanning 12-years from 1987 to 1999. His 26 ties for Cuba includes World Group participation in 1993, which was Cuba's first ever appearance in the main competition, having qualified through the expulsion of the Yugoslav team due to the Bosnian War. Cuba's debut World Group fixture came against Sweden in Kalmar and Pino was picked to play Stefan Edberg in the first rubber. Pino was beaten comfortably by Edberg and also lost a dead rubber to Nicklas Kulti, as Sweden won all matches in the tie. Pinar del Río is the capital city of Pinar del Río Province, Cuba. With a population of 139,336 (2004) in a municipality of 190,332, it is the List of cities in Cuba, 10th-largest city in Cuba. Franco Squillari (born 22 August 1975) is a former professional male tennis player from Argentina. He won 3 singles titles, reached the semifinals of the 2000 French Open and achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 11. Career As a junior, Squillari won the 1993 South American Closed Junior Championships (in Paraguay). Francisco Yunis (born 12 August 1964) is a former professional tennis player from Argentina. Career Partnering his brother Juan Carlos, Yunis was a losing doubles finalist at Bordeaux in 1983. En route they defeated the top seeded pairing of Pablo Arraya and Victor Pecci, Sr. The Argentine appeared at two Grand Slam tournaments in 1987.
