The School of Journalism, Media and Communication at University of Central Lancashire, the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is one of the UK's longest established centres of journalism teaching, growing out of the Harris College, Preston. Undergraduate and postgraduate courses are accredited by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council, the National Council for the Training of Journalists and the Periodicals Training Council, the training arm of the Periodical Publishers Association. Preston () is a city on the north bank of the River Ribble in Lancashire, England. The city is the administrative centre of the county of Lancashire and the wider City of Preston local government district. ITV News is the branding of news programmes on the British television network ITV. ITV has a long tradition of television news. Nina Hossain is a British journalist and presenter employed by ITN as the lead presenter of the ''ITV Lunchtime News''. Background Hossain was born in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England to a Bangladeshi father and an English mother. Her father, Tabarek Hossain (1935–2002), was born in British India (now Bangladesh) and migrated to Britain in the 1960s (when Bangladesh was still East Pakistan). Isioma Nkemdilim Nkiruka Daniel (born 1981) is a Nigerian journalist whose 2002 newspaper article comment involving the Islamic prophet Muhammad sparked the Miss World riots and caused a fatwa to be issued on her life.
