Josée Duplessis
Josée Duplessis is a politician in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She has served on the Montreal city council since 2009, representing De Lorimier as a member of Projet Montréal, and has been a member of the Montreal executive committee since November 2012. In June 2013, she was appointed as chair of the executive committee. Borough councillor Duplessis is a sociologist. Before entering political life, she ran a consulting firm that sought to improve the environmental practices of Quebec municipalities. She was elected to the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough council in the 2005 municipal election as a candidate of Gérald Tremblay's Montreal Island Citizens Union (MICU). The Montreal Executive Committee (french: Comité exécutif de Montréal) is the executive branch of the municipal government of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The committee reports directly to city hall and is responsible for generating documents such as budgets and by-laws, which are then sent to the Montreal City Council for approval. Saint-Michel is a neighbourhood in the Montreal borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension. It is named for a colonial-era road in the neighbourhood. Michael Mark Applebaum (born February 10, 1963) is a Canadian former politician who served as interim Mayor of Montreal between his appointment by the city council on November 16, 2012, and his resignation on June 18, 2013. He was the first anglophone to hold the post in over a century. On March 30, 2017, he was sentenced to a year in prison and two years probation for his role in extorting $60 000 worth of bribes from real estate developers as borough mayor in Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce between 2006 and 2012. Émilie Thuillier is a politician in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She has served on the Montreal city council since 2009, representing Ahuntsic as a member of Projet Montréal, and has been a member of the Montreal executive committee since November 2012.
