Jose Medina
Jose Medina (born March 29, 1953) is an American politician in the California State Assembly. He is a Democrat representing the 61st Assembly District, which encompasses parts of northwestern Riverside County and includes the cities of Riverside, Moreno Valley, Perris and Mead Valley. Medina is the Chair of the Higher Education Committee and a member of the California Latino Legislative Caucus and the California Legislative Jewish Caucus. Prior to being elected to the Assembly in 2012, he was a teacher at Riverside Poly High School and a Riverside Community College District Trustee. 1968 Intercontinental Cup
The 1968 Intercontinental Cup was an association football tie held over two legs in 1968 between the winners of the 1967–68 European Cup, Manchester United, and Estudiantes de La Plata, winners of the 1968 Copa Libertadores. The first leg was held on 25 September 1968 at the '' Estadio Boca Juniors'', as Estudiantes' ground was deemed unsuitable. Nevertheless, Estudiantes won the first leg 1–0, the winning goal awarded to Marcos Conigliaro in the 27th minute. Old Trafford hosted the return leg three weeks later on 16 October 1968. The match finished up as a 1–1 draw, granting Estudiantes their first Intercontinental Cup title. Juan Ramón Verón opened the scoring in the 6th minute, but Willie Morgan equalised in the 90th minute. Players were sent off in both legs of the tie, Nobby Stiles being dismissed for Manchester United in the 79th minute of the first leg. José María Medina
José María Medina Castejón (8 September 1826 – 1878) served as the President of Honduras three times during the 1860s and 1870s. Medina was born in Sensenti. While his father is not known, his mother's name was Antonia Medina Castejón. Military service At the age of 18 Medina joined the Honduran army, and in the same year of 1844 fought in Nicaragua as a junior officer against William Walker's attempts to conquer Central America. In 1850 José was appointed the Commander of Arms in Omoa. He assisted General Juan López's rebellion against General Cabañas Fiallos in 1855 and in the same year was defeated by General Mariano Álvarez at Siguatepeque. He served as an Official member of the Central American Joint Chiefs of Staff from July 1856 to May 1857. Presidency His first term in office was served as a temporary Acting President between 1 September and 31 December 1863. Medina was then elected President in 1864.
