José Guadalupe Cruz (footballer)
José Guadalupe Cruz Núñez (born Wednesday 22 November 1967 in Acopeo, Michoacán, Mexico) is a Mexican former professional footballer and manager. He coached Atlante during the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Playing career As a player, Cruz was a member of the Atlante side that won the 1993 Mexican championship. Managerial career His close association with the club has continued into his coaching career. Two years into his second spell at the club, he has overseen a league title triumph and the Champions League victory that secured their spot in the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup. He generally favours an attacking style of play, although he has neutered this instinct somewhat during the Apertura, where he has typically operated with just one out-and-out striker. Michoacán
Michoacán, formally Michoacán de Ocampo (; Purépecha: ), officially the Free and Sovereign State of Michoacán de Ocampo ( es, Estado Libre y Soberano de Michoacán de Ocampo), is one of the 32 states which comprise the Federal Entities of Mexico. Víctor Manuel Vucetich Rojas (born 25 June 1955) is a Mexican professional football manager and former player, who is the current manager of Liga MX club Monterrey. With a career spanning more than thirty years, Vucetich is one of the most decorated managers in the history of Mexican football. He has coached thirteen teams in the Liga MX, winning five league championships with four clubs. Copa MX
The Copa MX (formerly called Copa Tower Monterrey, Copa Eliminatoria, Copa México and Copa Corona MX (for sponsorship reasons)) was a Mexican football cup competition that was established in 1907. After a lengthy hiatus that began in 1997, it was restored in 2012. On early editions of the cup, it consisted of both professional and amateur stages. It was the first official tournament that included teams from different parts of Mexico and was considered a prestigious tournament, especially during its earlier years of existence. The original purpose of the competition was to determine a national champion, thus distinguishing it from the local league championship. Its format was different from the local leagues as well, as it employed direct elimination and culminated in a final that received much more fanfare than the local leagues.
