José Antonio Rodríguez (Mexican Footballer)
José Antonio "Toño" Rodríguez Romero (born 4 July 1992), is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Liga MX club Tijuana and the Mexico national team. He is an Olympic gold medalist. Club career Rodríguez started his career for Liga MX club Guadalajara, and made his debut on 6 April 2013 against Jaguares. In 2011, he was loaned to Veracruz for two seasons, and was the starting goalkeeper for the team. He returned to Guadalajara after two successful seasons with Veracruz, and became the starting goalkeeper of Guadalajara in 2014 after Luis Ernesto Michel was loaned to Saprissa of Costa Rica. On 26 November 2019, Rodríguez scored a goal from inside his own box during Guadalajara's 3–1 win against Veracruz. Luis Ernesto Michel Vergara (born 21 July 1979) is a Mexican football manager and a former professional footballer who last played as a goalkeeper for Liga MX club Tijuana. Michel has captained both Guadalajara and the Mexico national team in official matches, captaining the latter in the 2011 Copa América. Club career On January 6, 2014, Guadalajara loaned Michel to Costa Rican club Deportivo Saprissa for six months, with Saprissa having the option of extending the deal for an extra six months. 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup
The 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup was the 18th FIFA U-20 World Cup. Colombia hosted the tournament between 29 July and 20 August 2011, with matches being played in eight cities. The tournament was won by Brazil who claimed their fifth title. At a FIFA Executive Committee meeting held in Sydney on 26 May 2008, Colombia beat the only other candidate country, Venezuela, for the right to organize the U-20 World Cup. It was suggested by the then-Vice President of Colombia Francisco Santos Calderón that it was needed to withdraw from the race with Brazil to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup so the nation could concentrate on hosting the "best possible games". In an inspection tour of development works in March 2010, Jack Warner, then the vice president of FIFA, said that the completion of this tournament could provide Colombia with a launch pad to become a possible host for the 2026 World Cup. The FIFA U-20 World Cup is the biennial football world championship tournament for FIFA members’ men's national teams with players under the age of 20. The competition has been staged every two years since the inaugural tournament in 1977 when it was hosted by Tunisia, under the tournament name of FIFA World Youth Championship until 2005. 2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship
The 2011 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship was expanded to 12 teams beginning in 2011. The tournament determined the four CONCACAF teams that participated at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup to be held in Colombia. In addition, the top three finishers from Central America or the Caribbean, in addition to hosts Mexico, qualified to participate at the 2011 Pan American Games. The Executive Committee approved that for men's U-20 championships all three North American teams again qualified automatically for the finals. Central America received four berths, and the Caribbean received five. The new allocations give Central America one more berth than it had in 2009 and the Caribbean three more. On 1 September 2010 CONCACAF announced Guatemala as host of the championship, played from 3–17 April. The CONCACAF Under-20 Championship is the second longest running international association football event in the North America, Central America and the Caribbean region, CONCACAF, and is the qualification tournament for the FIFA U-20 World Cup. The format of the tournament has undergone changes over the years. The tournament proper is currently played with a first round of four round-robin groups from which the top two sides from each group advance to a single-elimination championship round.
