Josua Bengtsson
Josua Bengtson (10 January 1882 – 15 December 1958) was a Swedish stage actor, stage and film actor.Steene p.393 He appeared prolifically as a character actor in the theatre and in Swedish cinema following his debut during the silent era. Some of his final screen appearances were in the Åsa-Nisse series. Frans Gösta Viktor Ekman (28 December 1890 – 12 January 1938) was a Swedish actor, director and singer. Generally spoken of as Swedish theatre's most legendary stage actor, Gösta Ekman enjoyed a prolific stage career during his short life, becoming the first real star of Swedish theatre. His boyish good looks attracted both sexes, helping to create a massive cult following and elevating him to the status of a living legend. Combined with a beautiful voice and a powerful stage presence, Ekman was able to captivate his audiences. Biography Career He was known as a self-taught master of disguise with theatre make-up and costumes, Gösta Ekman was equally convincing as a farmer's son, an 18th-century middle-aged aristocrat, or an 80-year-old lunatic. ''Meeting in the Night'' ( sv, Möte i natten) is a 1946 Swedish film directed by Hasse Ekman. The film stars Ekman, Eva Dahlbeck and Ulf Palme. Plot summary The journalist Åke Bergström writes a critical article about prisons in Sweden. The magazine's editor in chief disagrees with him and removes the article. He also fires Åke, who gets the idea that he should pretend to murder a friend to gain real knowledge about life inside the walls of a prison.
