Josie And The Pussycats (soundtrack)
''Josie and the Pussycats: Music from the Motion Picture'' is the soundtrack album to the 2001 film of the same name, starring Rachael Leigh Cook, Rosario Dawson, and Tara Reid. It was released on March 27, 2001 by Playtone, in conjunction with Epic, Riverdale Records and Sony Music Soundtrax. Production Producer and singer-songwriter Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds served as the executive producer of the songs for the film. The soundtrack was released by Sony Music SoundTrax, the day before the film was released. The songs in the film were actually performed with Kay Hanley, singer for Letters to Cleo, as the singing voice of Josie. Rachael Leigh Cook lip synched to the songs in the film. However, Cook, Dawson and Reid provided backup vocals on all of the songs. Despite the film's underperformance at the box office, the soundtrack was well received and was quickly certified as a gold album for selling more than 500,000 copies. MSR Studios
Sound on Sound Studios, formerly known as MSR Studios (Manhattan Sound Recordings) is a photography and movie producing company Recording studio, recording facility in Montclair, New Jersey. Its forebear, MSR Studios, was located in Manhattan, just outside Times Square at 168 West 48th Street, between 6th and 7th avenues. Originating from the merger of ''Sound on Sound'' and Right Track Recording, the studio was first known as Legacy Studios. Closure and reopening MSR Studios ceased operations at its Midtown location in June 2016. Noise levels from the construction of a nearby hotel made recording difficult. It reopened its doors to the public in Montclair, New Jersey as ''Sound On Sound Studios'' in 2017. Gigolo Aunts are an American power pop band, who formed in 1981. Biography Early history The band was formed by middle school students Steve Hurley, Dave Gibbs, Phil Hurley, and Paul Brouwer in 1981 in Potsdam, New York, United States, originally known as Sniper. In 1986, their name changed to Gigolo Aunts (after the Syd Barrett song, "Gigolo Aunt", from his 1970 album '' Barrett'') and became a staple on the Northern New York music scene, gaining a reputation for frenetic live sets that featured the close harmonies of the Hurley brothers and Gibbs. Ivy was an American indie pop band composed of Andy Chase, Adam Schlesinger, and Dominique Durand. They were active between 1994 and 2012. History In 1991, Andy Chase placed an ad that attracted fellow multi-instrumentalist Adam Schlesinger. Fountains of Wayne was an American rock band that formed in New York City in 1995. The band included founding members Chris Collingwood, Adam Schlesinger, Jody Porter, and Brian Young. Beth Torbert is a Canadian singer best known by her stage name Bif Naked. Between 1996 and 2016, she was among the top 150 selling Canadian artists in Canada.
