Joshua Dugan (born 10 May 1990) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who last played as a and for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the NRL and Australia at international level. He previously played for the Canberra Raiders and the St George Illawarra Dragons in the National Rugby League, and has played at representative level for the Prime Minister's XIII, Country Origin, NRL All Stars and New South Wales in the State of Origin series. Early years Dugan was born in Garran, Australian Capital Territory. He played his junior rugby league for the Valley Dragons and South Tuggeranong Knights before being signed by the Canberra Raiders. Dugan also played Rugby Union for Marist College Canberra. After being signed by the Raiders, Dugan played in their NYC team in 2008 and 2009, scoring 25 tries and kicking 107 goals in 25 games. 2009 NRL Season
The 2009 NRL season was the 102nd season of professional rugby league football club competition in Australia, and the twelfth run by the National Rugby League. For the third consecutive year, sixteen teams competed for the 2009 Telstra Premiership title. The season commenced with the first match played on 13 March and ended with the Grand Final, played on 4 October. The Grand Final was won by the Melbourne Storm in their fourth consecutive grand final appearance. However, they were stripped of their Premiership on 22 April 2010 after they were found to be guilty of breaching the league's salary cap. The Newcastle Knights are an Australian professional rugby league club based in Newcastle, New South Wales. The Parramatta Eels are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in the Sydney suburb of Parramatta that competes in the National Rugby League. City vs Country Origin was an annual Australian rugby league football match that took place in New South Wales between City and Country representative sides. The City side represented the Sydney metropolitan area. While technically it was Sydney vs. the rest of NSW, players from the Central Coast (such as Matt Orford and Mark O'Meley) often represented City, but other players from the Central Coast (such as Chris Heighington) represented Country. The Country side represented the rest of New South Wales.
