Joseph Addabbo Jr
Joseph Patrick Addabbo Jr. (born May 13, 1964) is an American politician, a Democratic member of the New York State Senate from the 15th district representing Howard Beach, Ozone Park, Woodhaven, Glendale, Middle Village, Maspeth and parts of South Ozone Park, Ridgewood, Woodside and The Rockaways. Life and career Addabbo was born in 1964, the youngest child of Congressman Joseph Patrick Addabbo, Sr., and Grace Addabbo. He attended Nativity BVM School in Ozone Park and Archbishop Molloy High School, graduating in 1982. He later received degrees from St. John's University (1986) and Touro Law School. His father, Joseph P. Addabbo Sr., served 13 terms in the United States House of Representatives. Maspeth is a residential and commercial community in the borough of Queens in New York City. It was founded in the early 17th century by Dutch and English settlers. Anthony Como (born April 12, 1974) is a Republican politician from New York City Borough of Queens, New York. He was elected to the 30th district of the New York City Council in 2008 as a Republican, defeating Democrat Elizabeth Crowley, in what had been a reliably Republican district. The district includes Middle Village, Glendale, Ridgewood and parts of Richmond Hill, Woodhaven and Forest Hills. Crowley ran against Como again in the 2008 special election and beat him. Joseph Patrick Addabbo (March 17, 1925 – April 10, 1986) was a New York City politician who served as a Democrat in the United States House of Representatives from 1961 until his death from a seizure in Washington, D.C., in 1986. As the chairman of the United States House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense in the 1980s, he was a noted critic of President Ronald Reagan's massive defense spending increases. Addabbo was born in Queens, New York, and lived in the borough his entire life. The Rockaway Peninsula, commonly referred to as The Rockaways or Rockaway, is a peninsula at the southern edge of the New York City borough of Queens on Long Island, New York.
