Jose Cesar De Souza
Jose Cesar de Souza (born 16 November 1962) is a retired Brazilian marathon runner who competed in the 1980s and 1990s. In the World Marathon Majors, de Souza became the second athlete from Brazil to win the Chicago Marathon when he won the 1992 event in 2:16:14. The following year, de Souza reappeared at Chicago and finished in 12th place. Outside of Chicago, de Souza was 81st in the 1991 World Marathon Cup and failed to reach the finals of the 1998 IAAF World Road Relay Championships. He also won a silver medal at the 1987 South American Championships in Athletics. Biography On 16 November 1962, de Souza was born in Goiana, Brazil. The World Marathon Majors (WMM) (known for sponsorship reasons as the Abbott World Marathon Majors) is a championship-style competition for marathon runners that started in 2006. A points-based competition founded on six major marathon races recognised as the most high-profile on the calendar, the series comprises annual races for the cities of Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New York. Joseildo Rocha
Joseildo Rocha da Silva (born 20 February 1965) is a Brazilian long-distance runner. He won the 1991 Chicago Marathon, the marathon event at the 1991 South American Championships in Athletics, and the 1993 Los Angeles Marathon. Da Silva competed in the men's marathon at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Career In 1991, da Silva won the marathon event at the 1991 South American Championships in Athletics. Later in the year, he won the 1991 Chicago Marathon. Da Silva took the lead around into the race, and despite being caught by Irishman Roy Dooney after of the race, da Silva quickly dropped Dooney, and won the race by six seconds. His winning time of 2:14:33 was the slowest winning time since 1981, due to the wind and cold weather, and da Silva said that the lack of competition in the race affected his ability to run quickly. Madrid Marathon
The Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon ( es, Maratón de Rock 'n' Roll Madrid) is an annual marathon race which takes place in Madrid, Spain, in late April. The event was first held in 1978 and has since gained IAAF Gold Label Road Race status and had over 15,000 runners participate in the 2017 edition.
