Jordan Stolz
Jordan Stolz (born May 21, 2004) is an American speed skater. At the 2023 World Speed Skating Championships, Stolz became the youngest single distance world champion in history. He also became the first male skater to win three individual gold medals at a single World Speed Skating Championship. In addition to the three individual gold medals at the 2023 World Junior Speed Skating Championships, Stolz became the first person to win the individual World Championships and World Junior Championships in the same year, for three separate single distances (500 meters, 1000 meters and 1500 meters). Early life Stolz was born on May 21, 2004, in West Bend, Wisconsin, the son of dental hygenist Jane and police officer Dirk Stolz, originally from Germany. West Bend is the county seat of Washington County, Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 31,752. History Early history and settlement Northeastern Washington County's earliest known inhabitants were pre-Columbian Mound Builders, who constructed effigy mounds in the area sometime between 650 CE and 1300 CE. They were semi-nomadic and survived by hunting, fishing, and gathering wild plants. They made pottery and constructed tools from bone, wood, stone, and occasionally copper. They built effigy mounds shaped like mammals, reptiles, birds and other creatures, both real and mythical, as well as conical, oval, and linear mounds, some of which contain human burials. Sørmarka Arena is an indoor multi-purpose ice rink located in Stavanger, Norway.
