Jordan Dawson
Jordan Dawson (born 9 April 1997) is a professional Australian rules footballer who is captain of the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played for from 2016 to 2021. In February 2023, Dawson was made captain of the senior men’s team, taking over from Rory Sloane. Early life Dawson was born in Kingston SE, south-east of Adelaide in South Australia. He moved to Adelaide in his youth and attended Scotch College during his teenage years. AFL career He was drafted by Sydney with their third selection and fifty-sixth overall in the 2015 national draft. Rory Laird (born 29 December 1993) is a professional Australian rules football player who plays for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted by Adelaide with pick 5 in the 2011 Rookie Draft. AFL career In his first season in the AFL, Laird did not play for Adelaide. In Australian rules football, if a player takes a mark or is awarded a free kick before the siren sounds to end a quarter, and the siren sounds before the player takes a set shot, the player is allowed to take the kick after the siren. The Showdown is an Australian rules football game played by the two Australian Football League (AFL) teams from South Australia, the Adelaide and Port Adelaide football clubs. The first AFL premiership fixture between the two clubs took place on 20 April 1997.
