Jonathan Phillips (civil Servant)
Sir Jonathan Phillips (b. 21 May 1952), is a retired British civil servant who served as Warden of Keble College, Oxford from 2010 to 2022. Phillips was appointed as Permanent Secretary of the Northern Ireland Office in 2005 to replace Sir Joseph Pilling), having been Director-General, Political since 2002. Just before he retired in 2010, the Northern Ireland Office transferred a large portion of its duties to the Northern Ireland Executive as part of devolution, and the job of Accounting Officer transferred to the Director-General, Political, Hillary Jackson. He was appointed Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath (KCB) in the 2009 New Year Honours. Keble College
Keble College () is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford in England. Its main buildings are on Parks Road, opposite the University Museum and the University Parks. The college is bordered to the north by Keble Road, to the south by Museum Road, and to the west by Blackhall Road. Keble was established in 1870, having been built as a monument to John Keble, who had been a leading member of the Oxford Movement which sought to stress the Catholic nature of the Church of England. Knights Commander Of The Order Of The Bath
The Most Honourable Order of the Bath is a British order of chivalry founded by George I on 18 May 1725. The name derives from the elaborate medieval ceremony for appointing a knight, which involved bathing (as a symbol of purification) as one of its elements. The knights so created were known as "Knights of the Bath". George I "erected the Knights of the Bath into a regular Military Order".
