Jonathan Carroll
Jonathan Samuel Carroll (born January 26, 1949) is an American fiction writer primarily known for novels that may be labelled magic realism, slipstream or contemporary fantasy. He has lived in Austria since 1974. Life and work Carroll was born in New York City to Sidney Carroll, a film writer whose credits included ''The Hustler'', and June Carroll (née Sillman), an actress and lyricist who appeared in numerous Broadway shows and two films. He is the half brother of composer Steve Reich and nephew of Broadway producer Leonard Sillman. His parents were Jewish, but Carroll was raised in the Christian Science religion. A self-described "troubled teenager", he finished primary education at the Loomis School in Connecticut and graduated with honors from Rutgers University in 1971, marrying artist Beverly Schreiner in the same year. Jonathan Carroll is a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives from the 57th district. The 57th district, located in the Chicago metropolitan area, includes all or parts of Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Des Plaines, Glenview, Mount Prospect, Northbrook, Palatine, Prospect Heights and Wheeling. Early life and career Prior to serving in the General Assembly, Carroll was a special education teacher and currently works in private practice helping individuals with cognitive challenges like ADHD. Carroll has a degree in communications from DePaul University, and an M.A. in special education from Northeastern Illinois University. He is a certified special education teacher and has managed the private Carroll Educational Group for several years, helping clients with special needs. Jonathan Carril Regueiro (born 28 February 1984) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a centre forward. Football career Early years / Austria Carril was born in Boqueixón, A Coruña, Galicia. After years of playing only for amateur clubs or reserve squads (Deportivo de La Coruña B, Atlético Madrid B, Levante UD B, Racing de Ferrol, CD Linares, UD Villa de Santa Brígida and Santa Eulàlia), he moved in summer 2009 to Austria, joining SV Ried in the Bundesliga. On 13 March 2010, Carril scored his first goal in the Austrian top flight, in a 3–0 home win against SV Mattersburg for the season's 27th round. In June, he switched to another team in the country, SV Grödig.
