Jonatan Maidana
Jonatan Ramón Maidana (born 29 July 1985) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for River Plate. Club career After an initial period in Los Andes, Maidana transferred to Boca Juniors and made his debut with a 9-minute substitute appearance in a 2–2 draw with São Paulo F.C. in the 2006 Recopa Sudamericana. On 31 August 2008, Metalist Kharkiv secured Maidana's transfer. Two years later, in January 2010, he was loaned to reigning Argentine champions Banfield. After six months in Banfield, Maidana joined River Plate, rivals of his former team Boca Juniors. The defender scored River's winning goal in the 1–0 victory over Boca for the 2010 Apertura's '' Superclásico''. In January 2019, Maidana was signed to Mexican side Toluca. The 2010–11 Primera División season was the 120th season of top-flight professional football in Argentina. A total of 20 teams competed in two championships —the Apertura and Clausura— over the course of the season, which started on August 6, 2010 and ended on June 30, 2011, one day prior to the start of the 2011 Copa América, held in Argentina. Primera Nacional (usually called simply Nacional B, in English "National B Division", and known as Primera B Nacional until the 2019–20 season) is the second division of the Argentine football league system. The competition is made up of 37 teams. It is played by teams from all over the country. Clubs from Buenos Aires surroundings, as well as some from Santa Fe Province, are promoted from or relegated to the Primera B Metropolitana ("Metropolitan B Division") while for teams from the other provinces the Torneo Federal A ("Federal A Tournament") is the next level down. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The 2008-09 Primera División season was the 118th season of top-flight professional football in Argentina and the nineteenth season in which the Apertura and Clausura system is used. Boca Juniors won the Apertura championship for their 29th national title after a three team playoff with Tigre and San Lorenzo. The Clausura championship was won by Vélez Sársfield for their 7th national title. Gimnasia y Esgrima (J) and San Martín (T) were relegated to the Primera B Nacional. Format The format for the 2008-09 season remained unchanged. The season was split into two tournaments called Apertura and Clausura. The CONMEBOL Sudamericana, named as ''Copa Sudamericana'' (; pt, Copa Sul-Americana ), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 2002. The Guatemala national football team ( es, Selección de fútbol de Guatemala) represents Guatemala in men's international football and is controlled by the ''Federación Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala''.
