Jonah Mau'u
Jonah Mau'u (born 28 July 1998) is a New Zealand rugby union player, currently playing for and . His position is flanker or number 8. Early career Mau'u attended Royal School Dungannon in Northern Ireland in 2017. While in Northern Ireland, he represented Dungannon RFC and also represented Ulster in a friendly fixture. Mau'u was born in Canberra, Australia and has Samoan and Croatian parentage. His brothers are both internationals for Croatia at rugby. Mau'u also attended school in Auckland and Hong Kong before settling in Northland. Professional career Mau'u was named in the squad for the 2021 Bunnings NPC season, and was again named in the 2022 squad. 2023 Super Rugby Pacific Season
The 2023 Super Rugby Pacific season (known as Harvey Norman Super Rugby Pacific in Australia, Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific in Fiji and DHL Super Rugby Pacific in New Zealand) is the 28th season of Super Rugby, an annual rugby union competition organised by SANZAAR between teams from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Samoa and Tonga. The tournament will feature a similar schedule to the 2022 season, with 91 matches played in a round-robin followed by knockout format. The season is expected to run from 24 February, with the final to be played on 18 June, culminating before the start of the 2023 mid-year international window. Moana Pasifika
Moana Pasifika is a rugby union team made up of players from various Pacific island nations as well as New Zealand or Australian born players of Pasifika heritage, including Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and the Cook Islands. The team was originally created for a one-off match against the Māori All Blacks in December 2020, with the future intention of trying to join the Super Rugby competition. On 14 April 2021, New Zealand Rugby confirmed the side had been granted a conditional licence to join the Super Rugby competition. Flanker is a position in the sport of rugby union. Each team of 15 players includes two flankers, who play in the Forwards (rugby union), forwards, and are generally classified as either List of rugby union terms#B, blindside or List of rugby union terms#O, openside flankers, numbers 6 and 7 respectively. The name comes from their position in a Scrum (rugby union), scrum in which they 'flank' each set of forwards. 2021 Bunnings NPC Season
The 2021 Bunnings NPC season was the sixteenth season of New Zealand's provincial rugby union competition since it turned professional in 2006. The regular season began on August 6, when Manawatu hosted Counties Manukau. It involved the top fourteen rugby unions of New Zealand. For sponsorship reasons, the competition was known as the Bunnings NPC and it was the first season under the lead sponsor and to carry the NPC moniker since 2005. The winner of the Championship, Taranaki wasn't promoted to the Premiership due to a format restructure earlier in the season. The seventh placed Premiership team, Auckland wasn't relegated to the Championship after not being able to compete after the resurgence of COVID-19 in the Auckland region. The Croatia national rugby union team is governed by the Croatian Rugby Union. Croatia have been playing internationals rugby since 1992, they have yet to qualify for the Rugby World Cup.
