Jon McMurray
Jon James (July 28, 1984 – October 20, 2018), born Jonathon James McMurray, was a professional freeskier, musician, stunt artist and film maker. He was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and based in Los Angeles, California, United States. Skiing Known for combining freeskiing and extreme stunts, James was the first action sports personality to successfully land a back-flip transferring from rail to rail. He began his career as a professional athlete during high school, and competed and filmed internationally throughout North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. He was featured in action sports movies by Matchstick Productions, Poorboyz Productions, Level 1 Productions, and others. Westwold, British Columbia
Westwold is an unincorporated settlement in the Interior of British Columbia. A small farming and logging community, it is located between Kamloops and Vernon on Highway 97. Freeskiing
Freeskiing, or new school skiing, is a specific type of alpine skiing, which involves tricks, jumps, and terrain park features, such as rails, boxes, jibs, or other obstacles. This form of skiing resulted from the growth of snowboarding combined with the progression of freestyle skiing. "Newschoolers", or those who specifically ski in this style, as opposed to traditional freestylers, freeriders, big mountain skiers, and racers, are often found in terrain parks, which are designed specifically for tricks. Controversially, freestyle skiing is viewed as its own sport, but some view it as a subset of freeskiing. Some participants view it as a separate sport and do not refer to it as freestyle. The sport does not require participants to compete, but there are competitive events available at every level of the sport. Wing Walking
Wing walking is the act of moving along the wings of an aeroplane (most commonly a biplane) during flight, sometimes transferring between planes. It originated as a daredevil stunt in the aerial barnstorming shows of the 1920s, and became the subject of several Hollywood movies. An early exponent was Ormer Locklear, who was killed performing a dive on film. Charles Lindbergh began his aviation career as a wing walker.
