''Johnny Diesel & the Injectors'' is the eponymous debut album by Australian rock band Johnny Diesel & the Injectors, which was released in 1989. The album peaked at number 2 on the ARIA singles chart and won two ARIA Music Awards. Background Johnny Diesel & the Injectors were formed in Perth in 1986 by Mark Lizotte Johnny Diesel on lead guitar and lead vocals, Bernie Bremond on saxophone and vocals, John "Tatt" Dalzell on bass guitar, George Dalstrom on guitar and John "Yak" Sherritt on drums. Without Dalstrom the group relocated to Sydney in September 1987. They supported Jimmy Barnes on his Freight Train Heart Tour during November. By mid-1988 they were signed to Chrysalis Records. The four-piece group recorded their debut album, ''Johnny Diesel & the Injectors'', from August to September in Memphis, Tennessee with Terry Manning producing. Mark Denis Lizotte (born 31 May 1966) is an American-born Australian singer-songwriter and musician, who has released material under the name Diesel, Johnny Diesel, as leader of band Johnny Diesel & the Injectors, and as a solo performer, as well as under his birth name. Two of his albums reached No. 1 on the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Albums Charts, '' Hepfidelity'' in 1992 and '' The Lobbyist'' in 1993. Since 1987, Lizotte, has played on several albums by his brother-in law, Australian rock singer, Jimmy Barnes. Although better known as a singer-songwriter and guitarist, Lizotte is also competent on bass guitar, drums, percussion and keyboards; and has also produced an album by Richard Clapton and one by Vika and Linda Bull. The Fourth Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as the ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAS) was held on 26 March 1990 at the Darling Harbour Convention Centre in Sydney. Buddy Johnson
Woodrow Wilson "Buddy" Johnson (January 10, 1915 – February 9, 1977) was an American jump blues pianist and bandleader active from the 1930s through the 1960s. His songs were often performed by his sister Ella Johnson, most notably "Since I Fell for You", which became a jazz standard. Life and career Born in Darlington, South Carolina, United States, Johnson took piano lessons as a child, and classical music remained one of his passions. In 1938, he moved to New York City, and the following year toured Europe with the Cotton Club Revue, being expelled from Nazi Germany. ''Freight Train Heart'' is the third studio album by Australian rock singer, Jimmy Barnes, released in November 1987 in Australia by Mushroom Records and in early 1988 in the United States by Geffen. St Leonards, New South Wales
St Leonards is a suburb on the lower North Shore of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.
