John Watson (16th-century MP)
John Watson ( fl. 1547–1554), from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, was an English politician. Family Watson was the son of John Watson of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. There is no record of a marriage or children, however his life is obscure, and it is possible that it was not the same John Watson who served for Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Morpeth and Berwick-upon-Tweed. Education Watson was educated at Lincoln's Inn, London. Career He was a Member (MP) of the Parliament of England for Berwick-upon-Tweed in 1547, Morpeth in October 1553, and Newcastle-upon-Tyne Newcastle upon Tyne ( RP: , ), or simply Newcastle, is a city and metropolitan borough in Tyne and Wear, England. Daddy Stovepipe
Johnny Watson (April 12, 1867 – November 1, 1963) was an American blues singer, guitarist and harmonica player, best known for his recordings under the name Daddy Stovepipe. Watson also recorded as Jimmy Watson, Sunny Jim and Rev. Alfred Pitts. He may have been the earliest-born blues performer to record. Many of his recordings were jug band duets with his wife, Sarah Watson, who was usually credited as Mississippi Sarah. Life Watson was born in Mobile, Alabama. His career began before 1900 in Mexico as a twelve-string guitarist in early mariachi bands. John Watson (Somerset Cricketer)
John Russell Watson (22 August 1910 – 7 March 1980) played first-class cricket for Somerset between 1933 and 1936. He was born at Caundle Purse, Sherborne, Dorset and died at Yeovil, Somerset. Watson was a right-handed batsman used mainly by Somerset in the lower order. In his first match, against Derbyshire at Ilkeston in May 1933, he came in for his second innings with the Somerset score on 63 for six wickets, Somerset and Derbyshire having been dismissed for 87 and 81 all out respectively in their first innings. Watson hit 56 and shared an eighth wicket partnership of 92 with Michael Bennett, though Derbyshire then won the match easily. Watson played seven further games for Somerset that season, but his highest score in these matches was only 33, and a few matches in each of the 1934, 1935 and 1936 seasons were no more successful.
