Jack Tully
John Moran Tully (1 December 1885 – 27 October 1966) was an Australian politician. He was a Labor member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1925 to 1932 and from 1935 to 1946. Born at Mulgoa to railway officer Peter Tully and teacher Sarah Lovat, he attended St Patrick's College in Goulburn before becoming a public servant. He was an assistant at the public library from 1903 to 1908 and a draughtsman at the Registrar General's Department from 1908 to 1925 and 1932 to 1935. On 4 October 1916 he married Dorothy Kitching, with whom he had two sons. He had joined the Labor Party in 1913 and became president of the Chatswood branch. Sir John Alexander Macdonald (January 10 or 11, 1815 – June 6, 1891) was the first prime minister of Canada, serving from 1867 to 1873 and from 1878 to 1891. The dominant figure of Canadian Confederation, he had a political career that spanned almost half a century. Macdonald was born in Scotland; when he was a boy his family immigrated to Kingston in the Province of Upper Canada (today in eastern Ontario). As a lawyer, he was involved in several high-profile cases and quickly became prominent in Kingston, which elected him in 1844 to the legislature of the Province of Canada. An insurance agent by profession, he was elected to Dáil Éireann as a Clann na Poblachta Teachta Dála (TD) for the Cavan (Dáil constituency), Cavan constituency at the 1948 Irish general election, 1948 general election. He was re-elected at the 1951 Irish general election, 1951, 1954 Irish general election, 1954 and 1957 Irish general election, 1957 general elections. He lost his seat at the 1961 Irish general election, 1961 general election but was re-elected at the 1965 Irish general election, 1965 general election.
