John Symme, of Canterbury, Kent (c. 1333 – after 1393), was an English politician and weaver. John Peter Sim
John Peter Sim, (21 June 1917 – 29 July 2015) was an Australian politician. Born in Colac, Victoria, he was a farmer in Western Australia before serving in the military 1941–1946. He was Vice-President of the Western Australian Liberal Party of Australia, Liberal Party 1960–1962. On 26 November 1964, he was appointed to the Australian Senate as a Liberal Senator for Western Australia, filling the casual vacancy caused by the death of Senator Seddon Vincent. The Section 15 of the Constitution of Australia, Australian Constitution dictated that a 1967 Australian Senate election, special Senate election had to be held at the same time as the lower house 1966 Australian federal election, 1966 election, but Sim was re-elected. He held the seat until his retirement in 1980. Sim was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) on 31 December 1982, for service to parliament. Sim died on 29 July 2015, aged 98. References

Jock Sim
John Sim (4 December 1922 – 14 January 2000), known as Jock, Jackie, or Johnny Sim, was a Scottish professional footballer who played as a centre forward or left half in the Football League for Brighton & Hove Albion. Life and career Sim was born in Glasgow in 1922. During the Second World War, he served abroad for five years. Afterwards, he joined Kirkintilloch Rob Roy from another junior club, St Roch's, early in the 1946–47 season, scored freely, and within weeks was reportedly "in almost as great a demand as nylon stockings." He signed for English club Brighton & Hove Albion on 24 October, and scored on his Third Division South debut three weeks later. He had a run in the side in his first season, but injury disrupted his career: he was restricted to just 14 appearances in the next two seasons and none at all in 1949–50. Jonathan Sim (born September 29, 1977) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger who played in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the third round (70th overall) of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career As a veteran journeyman of the National Hockey League, Sim moved to play his first full professional season in Europe in 2011–12. After an unsuccessful stint in the Czech Extraliga, Sim was signed by Eisbären Berlin of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, where he helped contribute to the team's 6th league championship. Jack Sim (, born 1957) is the founder of the Restroom Association of Singapore, the World Toilet Organization, the World Toilet Day initiative and Bottom of the Pyramid (BoP) Hub. Formerly from the construction industry, he decided to devote the rest of his life to social work after attaining financial independence at the age of 40.
