John Schwartz
John Schwartz (October 27, 1793 – June 20, 1860) was an Anti-Lecompton Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives from Pennsylvania from 1859 to 1860. Biography Schwartz was born in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania to Philip Schwartz and Maria Magdalena Schlosser, and was apprenticed to a merchant in Reading, Pennsylvania. He became a partner at the expiration of his apprenticeship. Schwartz served in the War of 1812 as a major, and was engaged in the manufacture of iron products. His father, Philip, served in the Revolutionary War and was in Valley Forge. Schwartz was elected as an Anti-Lecompton Democrat to the Thirty-sixth Congress and served until his death in Washington, D.C. in 1860. He was interred in Charles Evans Cemetery in Reading, Pennsylvania. John Burnham Schwartz (born 1965) is an American novelist and screenwriter. Schwartz is best known for his novels ''Reservation Road'' (1998) and ''The Commoner'' (2008). His fifth novel, ''Northwest Corner'', a sequel to ''Reservation Road'', was published in 2011. He is an editor at large at Penguin Random House. John William Schwartz (1755 – after 1802) was a merchant and political figure in Nova Scotia. He represented Lunenburg County in the Legislative Assembly from 1785 to 1799. John Swartz
John Swartz (1858-1930) was a photographer in Fort Worth, Texas, USA, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He is notable for taking the only known portrait of Butch Cassidy's Wild Bunch gang of outlaws. A copy of this iconic photograph is in the collection of the Smithsonian Institution's National Portrait Gallery (United States) The Swartz brothers – David, John, and Charles – were three Virginia farm boys who ventured west, arriving in Fort Worth in the mid-1880s. Over the next 30 years, they observed the city through a camera lens, snapping pictures of people, events, and architecture – leaving a priceless legacy. They collectively produced thousands of photographs that were scattered to the four winds after their deaths. Hundreds of those images have survived, although the brothers themselves are largely forgotten.
