John Schultz (footballer, Born 1938)
John Schultz (born 28 September 1938) is a former Australian rules footballer who represented in the Victorian Football League (1897–1989), Victorian Football League (VFL). He had been a champion high-jumper at Caulfield Grammar School, winning the senior high jump at the 1955 Associated Grammar Schools of Victoria, Associated Grammar Schools Combined Athletics Meeting (as had South Melbourne's Jim Taylor (Australian footballer), Jim Taylor in 1948). He also played for the school's First XVIII, a team which also contained other future VFL players, Ron Evans of Essendon and Ron Cabble of Hawthorn. John H. Schulze (April 4, 1866 – May 19, 1941) was an American catcher in Major League Baseball who played for the St. Louis Browns of the American Association. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri. Batting side and throwing arm are unknown. Schulze was a major league player whose career, statistically speaking, was only slightly different from that of Eddie Gaedel or Moonlight Graham. John F. Schultz was an American professional baseball player in Major League Baseball during the 19th century. As a pitcher, Schultz played one season for the Philadelphia Phillies of the National League. He stood tall and weighed . Early life Schultz was born in Burlington, New Jersey, but his date of birth is unknown. 1891 season The Philadelphia Phillies signed Schultz to a contract prior to the 1891 season; he began play with the Phillies on May 6, pitching against the Brooklyn Grooms in Philadelphia's 13th game of the season. On May 27, he allowed the only home run of his career to cleanup hitter Bug Holliday of the Cincinnati Reds, a two-run shot in the bottom of the ninth inning. He made one start during that year in a 2–1 loss at Baker Bowl against the Reds, and finished the other five games in which he appeared. John Schultz (July 28, 1932 – May 6, 2017) was an American writer of fiction and non-fiction. He was also a teacher of writing, the creator of the Story Workshop method of writing instruction, and an emeritus professor in the Fiction Writing Department at Columbia College Chicago. He was born on July 28, 1932, in Iberia, Missouri, served as an army medic from 1953 to 1955, and then worked in Chicago as a writer and teacher. He died in 2017 at the age of 84 in his home of Riverside, a suburb of Chicago. The Story Workshop Schultz originated the Story Workshop method of teaching writing in 1965. He practiced the method at Columbia College, teaching many writers and training teachers in the Workshop techniques.
