John O'Neal (Medal Of Honor)
John O'Neal (c. 1841—after 1872) was an Irish-born United States Navy sailor who received the Medal of Honor for heroism on April 12, 1872. Medal of Honor citation Serving on board the U.S.S. Kansas, O'Neal displayed great coolness and self-possession at the time Comdr. A. F. John David O'Neal IV is an American politician who served as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates for the 28th district from 2013 to 2018. O'Neal served consecutively from January 2011 until January 2013 in the District 27 seat. Education Born in Hinton, West Virginia, O'Neal earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Alderson Broaddus College and a Master of Arts in religion from Liberty University. John Belton O'Neall
John Belton O'Neall (1793–1863) was an American judge who served on the precursor to the South Carolina Supreme Court. He is remembered for writing the digest ''The Negro Law of South Carolina''. Biography and legal career O'Neall graduated from South Carolina College (now the University of South Carolina) in December 1812 and began teaching at Newberry Academy. He was admitted to practice law in May 1814 in South Carolina. He was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives in 1816 from the Newberry, South Carolina area. He was elected again in 1822, and in 1824, he served as the Speaker of the South Carolina House of Representatives. He was first elected as a trial judge in 1828, and in 1830 was elected a judge on the South Carolina Court of Appeals. Following reforms to South Carolina's judicial branch, he was elected to serve as Chief Justice and President of the South Carolina Court of Appeals, the highest court in the state. Johnny O'Neal
Johnny O'Neal (born October 10, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan) is an American neo-bop jazz pianist and vocalist. His playing ranges from the technically virtuosic to the tenderest of ballad interpretations. Though unique in style, he is influenced by many jazz elders, including Oscar Peterson and Art Tatum. He has led many recording dates with musicians such as Russell Malone and many others. He was a 1997 inductee of the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame. Life and career In 1974, O'Neal moved to Birmingham, Alabama, where he worked as a full-time musician. In Birmingham he worked with local jazz musicians, such as Jerry Grundhofer, Dave Amaral, Cleveland Eaton, and Ray Reach. He moved to New York City to perform with Clark Terry in 1981, and also landed a regular job at the Blue Note, accompanying such musicians as Dizzy Gillespie, Ray Brown, Nancy Wilson, Joe Pass and Kenny Burrell.
