picture info	John O'Donovan (scholar) John O'Donovan ( ga, Seán Ó Donnabháin; 25 July 1806 – 10 December 1861), from Atateemore, in the parish of Kilcolumb, County Kilkenny, and educated at Hunt's Academy, Waterford, was an Irish language scholar from Ireland. Life He was the fourth son of Edmond O'Donovan and Eleanor Hoberlin of Rochestown. His early career may have been inspired by his uncle Parick O'Donovan. He worked for antiquarian James Hardiman researching state papers and traditional sources at the Public Records Office. Hardiman had secured O'Donovan a place in Maynooth College which he turned down. He also taught Irish to Thomas Larcom for a short period in 1828 and worked for Myles John O'Reilly, a collector of Irish manuscripts. Following the death of Edward O'Reilly in August 1830, he was recruited to the Topographical Department of the first Ordnance Survey of Ireland under George Petrie in October 1830. 	John O'Donovan (politician) John O'Donovan (23 January 1908 – 17 May 1982) was an Irish politician. Early and personal life He was born 23 January 1908 in Rockboro House, Macroom, County Cork, the son of Cornelius O'Donovan originally from Clonmel, an agricultural instructor, and his wife Hanna (née Twomey). He was educated at Catholic University School, Dublin, he obtained an entrance scholarship to University College Dublin (UCD), where he graduated BA in 1928 with first class honours in economics, history and jurisprudence. In 1929 he took a first class honours MA in economics and was awarded a travelling studentship, which he held at University College, Oxford, where he graduated B.Litt. in 1931. A Rockefeller foundation fellowship enabled him to spend the academic year 1931–1932 at Harvard Graduate School, the Brookings Institution and the University of Chicago. 	John O'Donovan (police Commissioner) John O'Donovan (22 May 1858 – 8 April 1927) was a New Zealand police commissioner. He was born in Ross Carbery, County Cork, Ireland, in 1858. He came to New Zealand in 1878 to join his brother Richard, who had represented Okarito on the Westland County Council (1872–1873) and on the Westland Provincial Council (1874–1876). 	John O'Donovan (Gaelic Footballer) John Joseph "Count" O'Donovan (1889 - 28 April 1920) was an Irish Gaelic footballer who played as a midfielder for the Cork senior team. Born in Clonakilty, County Cork, O'Donovan first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-two when he first linked up with the Cork senior team. He made his senior debut in the 1911 championship. O'Donovan went on to play a key part for Cork during a successful period, and won one All-Ireland medal. At club level O'Donovan was a one-time senior championship medallist with Lees. He also won one intermediate championship medal with Clonakilty. Throughout his inter-county career, O'Donovan made 9 championship appearances for Cork. His retirement came following the conclusion of the 1916 championship. picture info	Adolescents (band) The Adolescents are an American punk rock band formed in Fullerton, California in 1980. Part of the hardcore punk movement in southern California in the early 1980s, they were one of the main punk acts to emerge from Orange County, along with their peers in Agent Orange and Social Distortion. Founding bassist Steve Soto was the sole constant member of the band since its inception until his 2018 death, with singer Tony Reflex being in the group for all but one album. During the 1980s the band went through several lineup changes, breakups, and reunions, most involving drummer Casey Royer and guitarist brothers Rikk, Frank, and Alfie Agnew. During that decade, they released three albums: ''Adolescents'' (1981), '' Brats in Battalions'' (1987), and '' Balboa FunZone'' (1988, without Reflex), then broke up in April 1989.
