John Moloney (Irish Politician)
John Anthony Moloney (born 12 June 1953) is an Irish former Fianna Fáil politician. He was a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Laois–Offaly constituency from 1997 to 2011. He also served as a Minister of State from 2008 to 2011. An air traffic controller, undertaker and publican before entering politics, he is a former member of Laois County Council and Mountmellick Town Council. Moloney was first elected to Dáil Éireann at the 1997 general election and retained his seat at the 2002 and 2007 general elections. John Moloney is an English stand-up comedian of Irish descent. A regular at London’s Comedy Store, John has appeared at venues from Melbourne to Edinburgh. He appeared at the Just for Laughs and Halifax Festivals in Canada and Liffey Laughs in Dublin. Moloney hosts an annual fundraiser for ADCAF, a charity that works with abandoned and destitute children in India. His BBC Radio 4 show ''The John Moloney Show'' was commissioned for a second series. Early life Moloney grew up in Ilford with Irish parents . His father was from County Tipperary and his mother from County Kerry. When he was 14, he won the All Ireland Fleadh as an accordionist. John Joseph Moloney (born November 1954) is an Irish businessman. He was the group managing director of Glanbia from 2001 to 2013. He is the chairman of DCC plc. John Moloney (1935 - 6 October 2006) was an Irish Gaelic football and hurling referee. Born in Bansha, County Tipperary, Moloney first played competitive Gaelic football and hurling with Galtee Rovers. His subsequent refereeing career spanned six decades from 1958 to 2003. After beginning his refereeing career at club level in 1958, Moloney took charge of his first inter-county championship game in 1965. Sunburned Hand of the Man are an experimental rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. They are a loose collective known for their frequent line up changes and large discography released on a variety of labels including Eclipse Records, Thurston Moore's Ecstatic Peace!, and their own ''Manhand'' label.
