John McClelland (footballer, Born 1935)
John Bonar McClelland (5 March 1935 – 15 June 2024) was an English professional footballer who scored 102 goals from 373 games playing in the Football League for Manchester City, Lincoln City, Queens Park Rangers, Portsmouth and Newport County A.F.C., Newport County. He played as an outside right. McClelland was born in Bradford, and began his professional football career with Manchester City. He joined Lincoln City in September 1958, in part exchange for George Hannah (footballer born 1928), George Hannah, and in his second season was the club's leading scorer with 18 goals. Queens Park Rangers paid £14,000 for his services at the start of the 1961–62 season. Bradford
Bradford is a city and the administrative centre of the City of Bradford district in West Yorkshire, England. The city is in the Pennines' eastern foothills on the banks of the Bradford Beck. George Hannah (footballer Born 1928)
George L. Hannah (11 December 1928 – 5 May 1990) was an English footballer who played as a forward. Biography Hannah was born in Liverpool, England and signed for Newcastle United from Linfield in 1949 staying until 1957. He won an FA Cup winners medal in 1955, scoring the third goal in a 3–1 victory over Manchester City. He spent a season at Lincoln City before he moved to Manchester City in 1958 where he stayed until 1964, making 114 appearances and scoring 15 goals, before transferring to Notts County. His final season was with Bradford City before he retired in 1966. In his career, he played in 374 Football League games, scoring 63 goals, over the course of 17 seasons. Heather Armitage
Heather Joy Armitage (later ''Young'', then ''McClelland;'' born 17 March 1933) is a British retired sprinter and British record holder for the 100 yards. Sporting career Armitage won her first major title representing Yorkshire in the all England schools 100 yards in 1951 aged 18. She competed in the 1952 and 1956 Olympics in the 100 m, 200 m and 4×100 m events and won two medals in the relay. Her best individual achievement was sixth place in the 100 m in 1956. In 1958, she won three medals at the 1958 Commonwealth Games in Cardiff including as the anchor in the English 4 × 110 yards relay team alongside Madeleine Weston, June Paul and anchor Dorothy Hyman that won the gold medal and set a new world record of 45.37 seconds in the process. Sprinting is running over a short distance at the top-most speed of the body in a limited period of time. The Football League
The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League. The EFL is divided into the Championship, League One and League Two, with 24 clubs in each division, 72 in total, with promotion and relegation between them; the top Championship clubs change places with the lowest-placed clubs in the Premier League, and the bottom clubs of League Two with the top clubs of the National League.
