John Maclean (Australian Cricketer)
John Alexander Maclean (born 27 April 1946) is a former Australian Test cricketer who played in four Test matches and two One Day Internationals in 1978 and 1979. A wicket-keeper, Maclean played for Australia following the defection of many of the leading Australian cricketers to the competing World Series Cricket competition. The Queensland Cricket Association (QCA) granted Maclean a benefit in the 1978/79 season; only the second benefit (after Sam Trimble) granted by the QCA."Behind the Stumps", ''The Cricket Player'', December 1977, p. 39. Herston is an inner suburb of the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Herston had a population of 2,215 people. Geography Herston is located by car north of the Brisbane GPO. The area of Herston includes the Herston Health Precinct on its eastern side. This includes the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, the Queensland Institute of Medical Research and the ''Herston Quarter'' which is a development site to replace the former Royal Children's Hospital which moved to another site in 2014. The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is an elite sports institute set up in 1991 by the Queensland Government to support athletes in the state of Queensland. Its headquarters are currently located at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre in Nathan, Queensland.
