Count John Louis of Nassau-Saarbrücken (19 October 1472, in Saarbrücken – 4 June 1545, in ibid.) was the posthumous son of Count John II and his second wife, Elisabeth of Württemberg-Urach. In 1492, he married Elisabeth (1469–1500), the daughter of Count Palatine Louis I of Zweibrücken. John Louis Of Elderen
Jean Louis d'Elderen (29 September 1620 – 1 February 1694) was the 63rd prince-bishop of Liège during the opening years of the War of the Grand Alliance. He was born in Tongeren. Life Elderen was born in Tongeren, the son of Guillaume, lord of Genoels-Elderen, and Elisabeth de Warnant. John Louis, Count of Nassau-Ottweiler (23 May 1625, Saarbrücken – 9 February 1690, Reichelsheim, was first Count of Nassau-Ottweiler. At times, he was Major General, Regent of the other Nassau territories and chief of the House of Nassau. Life He was the second son of William Louis of Nassau-Saarbrücken and his wife Anna Amalia of Baden-Durlach. At the age of ten years he had to flee to Metz with his parents. His father died in 1640. John Louis and his mother were able to return to Saarbrücken three years later. Before his return, he had studied at the Academy of Saumur. Between 1644 and 1645 he completed his Grand Tour to Paris. The Peace of Westphalia restored all the Nassau territories in 1648. John Louis took up the government of Nassau-Saarbrücken and Nassau-Usingen. John Louis I, Prince of Anhalt-Dornburg (4 May 1656, in Zerbst – 1 November 1704, in Dornburg), was a German prince of the House of Ascania and ruler of the principality of Anhalt-Dornburg, as well as a grandfather of Catherine the Great. He was the sixth (but fourth surviving) son of John VI, Prince of Anhalt-Zerbst, by his wife Sophie Auguste, daughter of Frederick III, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp. Johann Ludwig II, Prince of Anhalt-Zerbst (23 June 1688, in Dornburg – 5 November 1746, in Zerbst), was a German prince of the House of Ascania and ruler of the principality of Anhalt-Dornburg. Admiral Sir John Louis, 2nd Baronet (1785 – 31 March 1863) was an officer in the Royal Navy. Naval career John Louis, son of Rear-Admiral Sir Thomas Louis, 1st Baronet, entered the Navy in 1795, was promoted to lieutenant in 1801, to commander in 1805 and to captain in 1806. He served during 1810 off the coast of Ireland and off Cadiz, was in the Mediterranean in 1811 and then went out to the West Indies. After several years on half-pay, he served again in the West Indies, 1826 to 1830. In 1837 he was appointed Captain Superintendent of Woolwich Dockyard and also to the command of the ''William and Mary'' yacht. Promoted to rear admiral in 1838, he was Admiral Superintendent of Malta Dockyard, 1838 to 1843, and Admiral Superintendent of Devonport, 1846 to 1850. John "Tiger" Louis (born 14 June 1941) is an England international Motorcycle speedway rider who rode for Ipswich, Newport, West Ham, Oxford, Wembley, Halifax and King's Lynn during his career. He is the father of Great Britain International Chris Louis. Career history Ipswich born Louis started his motorcycling career in scrambling and was tempted to have a go at speedway when Ipswich re-opened in 1969. He made his debut in 1970 and by the following year topped the national Second Division averages.
