John Lang (16 August 1881 – 1 September 1934) was a Scottish Association football, footballer who played as an Forward (association football)#Outside forward, outside right. Born in Kilbirnie, in North Ayrshire, Scotland, he spent the majority of his career in England where he played for Barnsley F.C., Barnsley, Sheffield United F.C., Sheffield United and Leicester City F.C., Leicester Fosse in The Football League. Career Club career Lang had been playing for local Glasgow sides Co-op United and Govern when he was signed by Barnsley F.C., Barnsley in August 1902. Making his The Football League, Football League debut against Stockport County F.C., Stockport County in September 1902, Lang stayed less than a season with the Yorkshire club, joining their local rivals Sheffield United F.C., Sheffield United for a £75 transfer fee in March 1903. Johnny Lang
Johnny Lang was an American cattle driver who discovered Lost Horse Mine in Joshua Tree National Park. He claimed that he had moved to the area because his brother had been gunned down in New Mexico with six other cowboys. In 1890, in the process of herding their cattle, they lost their horses in what is now known as Lost Horse Valley. He tracked them to what is now known as Keys Desert Queen Ranch, which at that time was believed to be occupied by cattle rustlers from what known as the McHaney Gang, but did not find the horses. He then claimed he then met "Dutch" Frank, who claimed he discovered a rich gold claim but was afraid to develop it because he had been threatened by the purported rustlers. Lang and his father bought the rights to the mine, purportedly for $1,000.00, and named it "Lost Horse". John Lang (Canadian Politician)
John Lang (April 10, 1839 – November 21, 1921) was a farmer and political figure in Ontario, Canada. He represented Peterborough East in the House of Commons of Canada from 1887 to 1891 and from 1896 to 1904 as an Independent Liberal member. He was born in Keene, Upper Canada, the son of James Lang and Agnes Stewart, both natives of Scotland. In 1866, he married Elizabeth Shearer. Lang served on the council for Otonabee Township from 1872 to 1888 and also served on the council for Peterborough County for twelve years. He also served as warden for the county and reeve for the township. Lang was first elected to the House of Commons in the 1887 federal election, defeating the incumbent John Burnham. He did not run in 1891 but defeated Burnham again in the 1896 federal election. John Harley Lang (27 October 19273 June 2012) was an Anglican priest in the second half of the 20th century. Lang was educated at Merchant Taylors' and trained for the priesthood at King's College London. After National Service with the 12th Royal Lancers he was ordained in 1952. Following a curacy at the large city parish of St Mary's, Portsea, Portsmouth he was Priest Vicar of Southwark Cathedral then Chaplain of Emmanuel College, Cambridge. From 1963 until 1980 he worked in religious broadcasting for the BBC. Finally he was Dean of Lichfield for 13 years. John Marshall Lang
John Marshall Lang (18342 May 1909) was a Church of Scotland minister and author. He served as Moderator of the General Assembly in 1893 and later became Principal of the University of Aberdeen in 1900. Life He was born in the manse at Glassford into an eminent ecclesiastical family on 14 May 1834. His father was the minister Gavin Lang. His mother was Agnes Roberton Marshall. He was the second of eleven children, including Robert Hamilton Lang. He studied Sciences at Glasgow University but did not graduate.
