John Kerins (Gaelic Footballer)
John Kerins (19 July 1962 – 21 August 2001) was an Irish Gaelic football manager and player. In a career that spanned two decades he played at club level with St Finbarr's and at senior inter-county level with the Cork county team. Career Kerins first came to prominence as a schoolboy with Coláiste Chríost Rí with whom he won successive Corn Uí Mhuirí titles. He subsequently made his senior debut at club level with St Finbarr's and won one All-Ireland Club Championship title during a 15-year career. Kerins first appeared on the inter-county scene as a dual player at minor level before winning an All-Ireland Under-21 Championship title as reserve goalkeeper to Michael Creedon in 1981. He subsequently joined the Cork senior football team, once again as understudy to Creedon, and won the first of seven Munster Championship titles in his debut season in 1983. St Finbarr's National Hurling & Football Club
St Finbarr's National Hurling & Football Club or St Finbarr's Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Togher area of Cork city, County Cork, Ireland. St Finbarr's, who play in royal blue and gold jerseys, are the only club in Ireland to win All-Ireland club championships in both hurling and football. The club has won Cork County Senior Championships in every decade except the first decade of the 21st century. This record was almost upheld in 2009 when the club reached the final in the Cork County Senior Football Championship, only to lose out by a point to Clonakilty. Between 1980 and 1982, the club won three Cork County Hurling Championships in a row. This feat had not been repeated until Imokilly did so between 2017 and 2019. GAA All Stars Awards
The Gaelic Athletic Association-Gaelic Players' Association All Stars Awards (often known simply as the All Stars) are awarded annually to the best player in each of the 15 playing positions in Gaelic football and hurling. Additionally, one player in each code is selected as Player of the Year. The awards were instituted in 1971. Since 2011 they have been presented jointly by the Gaelic Athletic Association and the representative body for inter-county players, the Gaelic Players Association. Each player who receives a nomination is given a medallion marking the milestone. It is considered "the most coveted sporting award scheme in the country". Munster Senior Club Football Championship
The Munster Senior Club Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Munster GAA Football Senior Club Championship) is an annual Gaelic football competition for the champion clubs of each county. It has been organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1964. The series of games are played during the autumn and winter months with the final usually being played in late November. The prize for the winning team is the O'Connor Cup. The championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship.
