John Jermyn (field Hockey)
John Jermyn (born 30 March 1982) is a former Ireland men's field hockey international. Between 2002 and 2018 Jermyn made 179 appearances and scored 93 goals for Ireland. He represented Ireland at the 2007 and 2011 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championships and at the 2016 Summer Olympics. In 2012, Jermyn set the new record as career top goal scorer for Ireland, eventually increasing the record to 93 goals by the end of his career with the national team; his record was not broken until 2018. Early years and education Jermyn completed his elementary educated at St Luke's National School in Douglas, Cork. Between 1996 and 2001 he attended Ashton School. Men's Irish Hockey League
The Men's Irish Hockey League is a field hockey league organised by Hockey Ireland that features men's teams from both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The league was first played for during the 2008–09 season. It replaced the All-Ireland Club Championships as the top level men's field hockey competition in Ireland. Since 2015–16 the league has been sponsored by Ernst & Young and, as a result, it is also known as the EY Hockey League. History Format The league was first played for during the 2008–09 season. The Austria men's national field hockey team represents Austria in men's international field hockey. Austria mainly competes in the Men's EuroHockey Championship II where they finished second twice. Wales Men's National Field Hockey Team
The Wales men's national field hockey team represents Wales in men's international field hockey competitions. Wales participated once in the Summer Olympics, the first edition and they won the bronze medal. Since then they participate in the Olympics as a part of the Great Britain squad. 2012–13 Men's FIH Hockey World League Round 1
The 2012–13 Men's FIH Hockey World League Round 1 was held from August to December 2012. A total of 35 teams competing in 9 events were part in this round of the tournament playing for 13 berths in the Round 2, played from February to June 2013. Qualification Each national association member of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) had the opportunity to compete in the tournament. 2009 Men's EuroHockey Nations Trophy
The 2009 Men's EuroHockey Nations Trophy was the 3rd edition of the Men's EuroHockey Nations Trophy, the second level of the European field hockey championships organized by the European Hockey Federation. It was held from 1 to 8 August 2009 in Wrexham, Wales. The tournament also served as a qualifier for the 2011 EuroHockey Championship, with the finalists Ireland and Russia qualifying. Ireland won their second EuroHockey Nations Trophy title by defeating Russia 2–1 in the final and the hosts Wales won the bronze medal by defeating the Czech Republic 5–2. Qualified teams Format The eight teams were split into two groups of four teams. The top two teams advanced to the semifinals to determine the winner in a knockout system. The Belgian national men's field hockey team represents Belgium in international men's field hockey and is controlled by the Royal Belgian Hockey Association, the governing body for field hockey in Belgium. Cork (city)
Cork ( , from , meaning 'marsh') is the second largest city in Ireland and third largest city by population on the island of Ireland. Men's Belgian Hockey League
The Men's Belgian Hockey League is a field hockey league organised by the Royal Belgian Hockey Association. The league was established in 1919 as the Division 1. Between the 2006–07 and the 2015–16 seasons it was known as the Honor Division. Since 2016–17 it has been sponsored by Audi and as it also known as the Audi Hockey League. Sixteen different clubs have won the league with a 28 times record for Léopold. The current champion is Léopold, having won the 2018–19 by defeating Beerschot in the championship final. 2007–08 Euro Hockey League
The 2007–08 Euro Hockey League was the inaugural season of the Euro Hockey League, Europe's premier club field hockey tournament organized by the EHF. The final was played between UHC Hamburg and HGC at the Hazelaarweg Stadion in Rotterdam, Netherlands. UHC Hamburg defeated HGC after extra time by 1–0 to win the first edition of the Euro Hockey League. Barry Middleton
Barry John Middleton (born 12 January 1984) is regarded as one of the greatest British field hockey players in history. He played as a midfielder and forward for England and Great Britain and is the most capped British hockey player in history and captained his country for many years. Middleton was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2020 New Year Honours for services to hockey. Club career Middleton plays club hockey in the Men's England Hockey League Premier Division for Holcombe. He has previously played club hockey for East Grinstead, Dutch club HGC, Cannock and Doncaster. On 28 June 2021 he was appointed Director of Hockey for Holcombe, whilst continuing to play for them.
