John Hurst (American Football)
John Hurst (born November 2, 1996) is an American football wide receiver who is a free agent. He played college football at West Georgia. Early life and high school Hurst grew up in Milton, Georgia and attended Cambridge High School. As a senior, he caught 63 passes for 834 yards and seven touchdowns and was named All-North Fulton. College career Hurst was a member of the West Georgia Wolves for five seasons, redshirting as a true freshman. He caught 40 passes for 654 yards and seven touchdowns and was named first-team All-Gulf South Conference as a senior. Hurst finished his collegiate career with 77 receptions for 1,242 yards and 12 touchdowns in 35 games played and was named to West Georgia's All-Decade Team for the 2010s. After his senior season, Hurst declared for the 2020 NFL Draft, where he went undrafted. John Hurst (footballer)
John Hurst is an English former professional footballer. Born in Blackpool, Lancashire, Hurst joined the youth system for Everton, making his first team debut in the 1965–66 season. Originally a striker, Everton manager Harry Catterick made Hurst into a centre-half, a position in which he appeared in the 1968 FA Cup Final. He formed a defensive partnership with Brian Labone, the club captain of Everton at the time. Following the introduction of substitutes to English football in 1965 (for injury only) Hurst became Everton's first ever sub replacing Fred Pickering at Stoke City's Victoria Ground in August 1965. Everton won the league title in the 1969–70 season and Hurst was an ever-present during this campaign, making 42 appearances and contributing 5 goals. He also won the 1970 FA Charity Shield with Everton. Hurst was transferred to Oldham Athletic following the 1975–76 season. John Fletcher Hurst
John Fletcher Hurst (August 17, 1834 – May 4, 1903) was an American bishop in the Methodist Episcopal Church and the first Chancellor of the American University in Washington, D.C. Biography Born on August 17, 1834, in Salem, Dorchester County, Maryland. Hurst graduated from Dickinson College in 1854 and in 1856 went to Germany to study at the University of Halle and the University of Heidelberg. From 1858 to 1866 he was engaged in pastoral work in America. He was ordained by Methodist Episcopal Bishop Thomas Asbury Morris in 1862. From 1866 to 1870 he filled a five-year appointment as Professor of Systematic Theology at the Martin Mission Institute in Bremen, Germany. In 1870, Hurst was chosen to teach Historical Theology at Drew Theological Seminary in Madison, New Jersey, where he was elected President in 1873, serving until elected to the episcopacy in 1880. John Gilbert Hurst (15 August 1927 – 29 April 2003) was a British archaeologist and pioneer of the study of mediaeval archaeology. Biography John Hurst was born on 15 August 1927 at Cambridge. He was educated at Harrow and then, following National Service, went up to Trinity College, Cambridge to read archaeology. Although his studies at Cambridge were exclusively concerned with prehistory, his interests already lay in the medieval period, and while still an undergraduate he co-directed the excavation of Northolt Manor. He was then appointed to the Ministry of Works as an inspector of ancient monuments in 1952. He went on to become Principal Inspector in 1973 and Assistant Chief Inspector from 1982 to 1987 when he retired, the Ministry of Works in this time having become first the Department of the Environment and then English Heritage.
