John Hilliard (American Football)
John Edward Hilliard (born April 16, 1976) is a former American football defensive end who played three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Seahawks in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft. Hilliard played college football at Mississippi State University and attended Sterling High School (Houston), Sterling High School in Houston, Texas. He was also a member of the Green Bay Packers, New Orleans VooDoo and Grand Rapids Rampage. Professional career Seattle Seahawks Hilliard was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks with the 190th pick in the 2000 NFL Draft. He was released by the Seahawks on August 25, 2003. Green Bay Packers Hilliard signed with the Green Bay Packers on January 19, 2004. He was released by the Packers on February 27, 2004. Defensive End
Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. History Early formations, with six- and seven-man line defense, seven-man lines, used the end as a containment player, whose job was first to prevent an "end run" around his position, then secondarily to force plays inside. When most teams adopted a five-man line, two different styles of end play developed: "crashing" ends, who rushed into the backfield to disrupt plays, and "stand-up" or "waiting" ends, who played the more traditional containment style. The 2000 NFL season was the 81st regular season of the National Football League. The season ended with Super Bowl XXXV when the Baltimore Ravens defeated the New York Giants, 34–7, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. 2002 NFL Season
The 2002 NFL season was the 83rd regular season of the National Football League. The league went back to an even number of teams with the addition of the Houston Texans; the league has remained static with 32 teams since. The clubs were realigned into eight divisions, four teams in each. Also, the Chicago Bears played their home games in 2002 in Champaign, Illinois at Memorial Stadium because of the reconstruction of Soldier Field. The NFL title was won by Tampa Bay when they defeated Oakland in Super Bowl XXXVII, at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California on January 26, 2003. It would be the last Super Bowl held in January and the last to be hosted in San Diego.
