John FitzMaurice, Viscount Kirkwall
John Hamilton FitzMaurice, Viscount Kirkwall (9 October 1778 – 23 November 1820), known as John FitzMaurice until 1791, was a British politician. Background Kirkwall was the son of the Hon. Thomas FitzMaurice, younger son of John Petty, 1st Earl of Shelburne. His mother was Mary, ''suo jure'' Countess of Orkney, daughter of Murrough O'Brien, 1st Marquess of Thomond and Mary, ''suo jure'' Countess of Orkney. His father was the Thomas FitzMaurice, 5th Earl of Orkney. The Prime Minister of Great Britain, Lord Shelburne, William Petty FitzMaurice, was his uncle. He gained the courtesy title ''Viscount Kirkwall'' when his mother succeeded as Countess of Orkney in 1791. Political career Kirkwall was returned to Parliament for Heytesbury in 1802, a seat he held until 1806, and later represented Denbigh Boroughs between 1812 and 1818. Thomas FitzMaurice (MP)
The Honourable Thomas Fitzmaurice (July 1742 - 28 October 1793) was a Member of Parliament for Calne (UK Parliament constituency), Calne from 1762 to 1774, and then for Wycombe (UK Parliament constituency), Chipping Wycome until 1780. Early life and family Fitzmaurice was the younger son of John Petty, 1st Earl of Shelburne. His father was the second surviving son of Thomas Fitzmaurice, 1st Earl of Kerry, and his wife Anne Petty, daughter of Sir William Petty. His father changed his surname in 1751 on inheriting the estates of his uncle, Henry Petty, 1st Earl of Shelburne, and was himself created Viscount Fitzmaurice in 1751 and Earl of Shelburne in 1753. His elder brother William Petty, 2nd Earl of Shelburne, William was an MP before he inherited the family titles on his father's death in 1761; he later became Prime Minister of Great Britain in 1782 and was created Marquess of Lansdowne in 1784. Robert Myddelton Biddulph ( Biddulph; March 1761 – 30 August 1814) was a British Member of Parliament (MP). Early life The first son of Penelope ( Dandridge) Biddulph and barrister Michael Biddulph of Ledbury in Herefordshire and Cofton Hall in Worcestershire. His elder sister, Anne Biddulph, was the wife of David Gordon, 14th of Abergeldie. His younger sister, Penelope Biddulph, married Adam Gordon, brother of David Gordon (both sons of Charles Gordon, 12th of Abergeldie). His paternal grandparents were Robert Biddulph and Anne ( Joliffe) Biddulph. His maternal grandfather was John Dandridge of Balden's Green, Malvern, Worcestershire.
