John Finnemore's Double Acts
''John Finnemore's Double Acts'' is a series of radio comedy programmes, written by John Finnemore. It is an anthology series of largely unconnected two-handers. The first series of six episodes was broadcast on Radio 4 in October and November 2015. A second series of six episodes was broadcast in May, June and July 2017. The series' working title was ''The John Finnemore Project''. The programme was produced and directed by David Tyler. Format Each episode features only two main speaking parts, apart from Finnemore himself who acts as announcer. Additional, uncredited, voices are sometimes heard briefly. Radio comedy, or comedy, comedic radio programming, is a radio broadcast that may involve variety show, sitcom elements, sketch comedy, sketches, and various types of comedy found in other media. It may also include more surreal or fantastic elements, as these can be conveyed on a small budget with just a few sound effects or some simple dialogue. Radio comedy began in the United States in 1930, based on the fact that as most United Kingdom music hall comedians such as Charlie Chaplin and Stan Laurel progressed to silent films, they moved to cinema of the United States, Hollywood and fed the radio comedy field. He is the son of actor and writer John Kane and opera singer Alison Warner. His sister, Susy Kane, is also an actor and writer. Martin Clunes
Alexander Martin Clunes OBE DL (born 28 November 1961) is an English actor, comedian, director and television presenter. He is best known for portraying Martin Ellingham in the ITV comedy-drama series ''Doc Martin'' and Gary Strang in ''Men Behaving Badly''. Gus Brown is an English actor and comedian. He is half of the double act Laurence & Gus, alongside fellow comedian and writer Laurence Howarth.
