John Delaney (born 19 April 1964) is a Bahamian lawyer. John Delaney graduated with an LLB in law from Birmingham University in 1986, studied for the Bar at Lincoln's Inn, and graduated with an LLM in law from the London School of Economics in 1988. John Delaney (Florida Politician)
John Adrian Delaney (born June 29, 1956) is an American lawyer, politician, and university and college President. He served as mayor of Jacksonville, Florida, from 1995 to 2003, and as the president of the University of North Florida from 2003 to 2018. In 2021, he was named President of Flagler College after a few months as Interim. He is a member of the Republican Party. Early life Delaney was born in Lansing, Michigan, and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. His family moved to Jacksonville when he was sixteen. John Delaney (Maryland Politician)
John Kevin Delaney (born April 16, 1963) is an American politician, businessman, and former attorney who was the United States representative for Maryland's 6th congressional district from 2013 to 2019. He was a candidate in the 2020 Democratic presidential primaries. On July 28, 2017, Delaney became the first Democrat to announce his run for president in 2020. Delaney did not run for re-election to Congress in 2018, choosing to focus on his presidential campaign. In November 2018, fellow Democrat David Trone was elected to succeed Delaney in Congress, and subsequently endorsed him for President in 2020. Delaney suspended his campaign on January 31, 2020, citing low poll numbers and wanting to avoid pulling support from other candidates. He later endorsed Joe Biden for president. John Delaney (meteorologist)
John Delaney (1811 – April 26, 1883) was an Irish-born civil servant, meteorologist and political figure in Newfoundland. He represented Placentia and St. Mary's in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly from 1848 to 1852 and from 1855 to 1860 as a Liberal. He married Elizabeth Troy, the sister of Father Edward Troy, before coming to St. John's in 1831. Delaney was door-keeper for the House of Assembly from 1835 to 1843. In 1852, he was named keeper of the House of Assembly and, in 1853, surveyor of roads. He played an active role in the passing of the Postal Act in 1851. Delaney was defeated when he ran for reelection in 1852. In 1860, he was named postmaster general; Delaney improved mail service in Newfoundland, introducing delivery to all parts of the island and door-to-door delivery in St. John's. John DeLany (Wisconsin Lawyer)
John DeLany (often spelled Delany or Delaney, or De Lany) (1824 – October 29, 1882) was a lawyer and journalist from Portage County who served a single one-year term in the Wisconsin State Assembly representing Portage County as a Democrat. Background DeLany was born in New York City in 1824. An account of his newspaper career states that he served an apprenticeship at the ''Green Bay Intelligencer'', setting his first type in 1834. In 1842, he and a partner issued the third newspaper in the Madison region, the weekly '' Wisconsin Democrat'', on October 18, 1842. It was radically pro-Democratic Party and states' rights. The paper transferred to other hands on February 9, 1843. DeLany next appears in Wisconsin Territory as a young retail clerk in what was then called the "Fort Winnebago settlement" or "Winnebago settlement", now Portage, Wisconsin, reading the law between customers. John Delaney (born December 30, 1985) is an American college baseball coach who was named Quinnipiac's head coach prior to the start of the 2015 season. A Quinnipiac alumnus, Delaney played minor league baseball in the Milwaukee Brewers system before starting his coaching career. Playing career Delaney attended Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, Massachusetts, where he won a state baseball championship in 2004. Delaney played college baseball at Quinnipiac from 2005 to 2008. He was named an all-Northeast Conference player each year. In 2008, the Milwaukee Brewers selected him in the 25th round of the Major League Baseball Draft. He spent 2008 and 2009 in Milwaukee's minor league system, advancing as high as Class-A Wisconsin. John William Delany ( ga, Seán Ó Dubhshláine; 1769 – 1838) was an Irish luthier and maker of violins and violas from Dublin. His instruments have become known for their unusual labels, often expressing his support for liberty and racial equality. Two of Delany's violins are preserved as part of a collection in the National Museum of Ireland, Dublin. Early life Delany was born in Dublin in 1769 to Daniel Delany, a cabinetmaker, and Mary Byrne. On 20 November 1771, Delany was baptised John William Delany in the parish of St Catherine's, a Roman Catholic parish in Meath Street, Dublin. Delany's parents were married in the same church the year before on 29 October 1770. It is therefore possible that Delany was born thereafter, sometime in the Summer or Autumn of 1771.
